Nightcrawler
"You feel as if you are invincible..."
Nightcrawler is a Blackout-exclusive Raytraxian in Kaiju Paradise.
The Nightcrawler is a lizard like Raytraxian, being mostly grey colored with a black leaf-like or scar-like patterns on its ears and limbs. It has a unique purple pattern on the front of its torso and the bottom of its tail that glows during Blackouts. The Nightcrawler wears 3-lensed night vision goggles that glow a faint purple alongside a waist belt of pouches and a singular blowtorch. It wears a pair of black gloves.
Abilities
Unlike any other Raytraxian seen in the game, Goggled Nightcrawlers have two abilities that replace the standard Grab and Attack, being Pursue and Pummel respectively.
Nightcrawler Minions do not have the same unique abilities as a goggled Nightcrawler and will instead have 115 HP along with the standard Raytraxian abilities (Grab & Attack).
Pummel
Pummel works similar to a Katana. It is a 'combo'-like type of ability, allowing Nightcrawlers to attack survivors 3 times in quick succession with the last attack having a slightly longer cooldown. Unlike the Katana however, it will not slow the Nightcrawler down. During Blackouts, the last attack will make the Nightcrawler dash forward.

Pursue
Pursue is the Nightcrawler's signature move. The ability has a 30 second cooldown.
Pursue is divided into three stages: First is the preparation stage, where the Nightcrawler slams their fists into the ground and causes nearby survivors to be ragdolled. Shortly after this begins the second stage, where the Nightcrawler begins to sprint wherever the camera is facing. You cannot control its movements in this state and can only move your camera around to guide the direction of the pursuit. If the Nightcrawler collides with a survivor, it will damage, knockback, and ragdoll them. The final stage begins near the end of the pursuit, in which, should the Nightcrawler come into contact with a survivor, will cause the survivor to be grabbed by the neck, lifted off the ground and punched away, dealing heavy amounts of damage and ragdolling the survivor. Said survivor will then act as a projectile, damaging and ragdolling any user that is hit by them for a few seconds. If a survivor dies to the punch, they will not be turned into a Nightcrawler and will instead die and eventually respawn. If there are no nearby survivors to collide with during this stage, the pursuit will simply end.

Snare
Snare is a supportive ability, used to hinder Human players and make it easier to attack them. Upon using the ability, a small beartrap-like snare will be placed on the floor that turns transparent after a few seconds. If a Human steps in the snare, they will take 20 damage, be stunned for a brief moment, and have a slowdown effect applied to them for 10 seconds. The snare also attaches a ring of barbed wire to the victim's leg to indicate the slowdown.
Placing a snare consumes 10% Rage, and has a cooldown of 1 second.

Rage (Passive)
Exclusive to Goggled Nightcrawlers, they have a "Rage" system where they need to keep their rage bar above 0% by fighting, or else they start losing 5 HP per second. They can have a maximum of 600% rage when a Blackout is active, and 300% outside of said event.
In order for a Nightcrawler obtain passive regeneration, the rage bar needs to be kept above 400% during a Blackout. Otherwise, however, it only needs to stay above 200%. Nightcrawler has an increased passive regeneration rate of 1.5 HP per second.
The Rage system is also used as a type of currency for their abilities, requiring them to spend a certain number with every ability.
- Pursue costs 75% Rage.
- Snare costs 10% Rage.
- Retaliate costs 15% Rage.
While rage bar is active, Violet breakthrough soundtrack is played in the background.
Increased Health (Passive)
Goggled Nightcrawlers have a huge health pool of 800 HP. They can passively regenerate if they have the necessary rage, They can also heal through converting with Pummel healing 20 HP upon conversion during Blackouts and 10 HP otherwise.
Retaliate (Passive)
Upon losing 100 health in under 1.5 seconds, the Nightcrawler will stomp on the ground, sending nearby players into a ragdoll and dealing 12 damage. Retaliate requires 15 rage to function.
Block (Passive)
During Blackouts, Fireaxes and Long Pipes will be dodged, yielding the text "Seems like they managed to evade your axe/long pipe swing..", and reducing the damage dealt by 90%, resulting in both the Fireaxe and Long Pipe dealing a meager 4 damage. Evaded attacks will not slow the Nightcrawler nor ragdoll them.
Bounty (Passive)
Goggled Nightcrawlers can be killed for 2,500 Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination immediately after they spawn. For each convert that a Nightcrawler gains, an additional 20 Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination is added to their total worth.
Acquirement
Nightcrawler can be obtained by finding a pair of Goggles around the map or via conversion from another Nightcrawler Raytraxian, becoming a Nightcrawler minion. You will not have the goggles, and will not have the unique abilities of a Goggled Nightcrawler.
The goggles can only spawn randomly around the map during Blackouts in specified locations. They have a 60% chance to spawn each Blackout in public servers. It is always guaranteed to spawn in private servers.
If the goggles are to spawn, they will do so 6 minutes and 15 seconds into a Blackout; otherwise referred to as the beat drop of the 2nd loop.

- NyuRuButter made its initial design.
- Mysticalesta created its concept art.
- 0Kosm_o0 assisted in its design.
- BlendAndMixx gave the idea of its species.
- Chroma suggested its current name.

- Nightcrawler is the only Raytraxian whose Bestiary entry is unlocked right after conversion, and is also one of few Raytraxians who have multiple ways of unlocking its Bestiary entry.
- A Nightcrawler minion has to obtain a 10 convert streak in order to unlock its Bestiary entry.
- Players can kill the Nightcrawler to unlock its Bestiary entry.
- However, only the player that has landed the last hit on it will unlock the entry if they do not already have it.
- Similarly to Jammer's Diversion tooltip being used as Feizao and Fashui's Slippery tooltip at one point, Nightcrawler's Pursue used to share the same tooltip as Protogen and Dark Protogen's Self Destruct.
- Hovering over the Nightcrawler's icon in the Bestiary repeatedly will play the Nightcrawler's Pursue sound effect, as well as cause its icon to violently shake.
- When a player picks up the goggles, the Blackout will extend by 50 seconds, and after transforming, it will last an additional 550 seconds, adding up to 1300 seconds (21 minutes 40 seconds) as opposed to 750 seconds (12 minutes 30 seconds).

- The finished concept art for Nightcrawler showed 2-lensed goggles instead.
- When a Nightcrawler has Pummel equipped, an unique idle animation is used.
- If the Nightcrawler has Pummel equipped with the "Debug Mode" option activated, the hitbox is similar to the one used for the basic Raytraxian abilities (Hitboxes on both arms), but includes an extra one on the left leg.
- The hitbox on the arms is used for the first and second swing, and the one on the leg is used for the third swing.
- Nightcrawler's Cloaker costume is inspired by their festive skin from the 2022 Christmas event and the old ;cloaker=true subvariable in their TF command.
- Their festive skin was based on the Cloaker from Payday 2, and the cloaker subvariable made Nightcrawler use voicelines from the same character. The Cloaker costume reuses the same voicelines and modernizes their festive skin' design.
Bugs
- The Pummel was affected by the anti-cheat, causing it to usually miss the second/third attack due to the short cooldown, this has been fixed at the release of Hallows Eve Event.
- Oddly enough, Pursue's ability to break doors also applies to locker doors. In the past, it would play the animation, but the door would still remain intact. This has since been changed to break the door=
