Wiki Guidelines

From Kaiju Paradise Official Wiki

This page outlines a basic ruleset for editing and posting on this wiki. Those found breaking the rules will have their edit/post removed. However, if a user continues to break these rules, further punishment will be enacted.

Wiki Contributors may be contacted over on the Official KP Discord for further assistance.

Editing the Wiki

The section below lists the rules users must follow when editing any portion of the wiki. Using what is already on the page to your advantage alongside MediaWiki's Editing Help Page is highly recommended when first learning how to edit the wiki.

<tabber> |-|General Ruleset=

1. Miraheze TOS

This wiki and those within it are subject to Miraheze TOS.

2. KP Discord

This wiki and those within it are subject to the Official KP Discord Rules wherever applicable.

3. Unnecessary Edits

Changing words/sentences to synonymous words/sentences, changing grammar where it isn't necessary, removing/adding minor detail words, replacing media for no reason and similar will be counted as unnecessary.
Wiki Contributors reserve the full right to determine if an edit is necessary or not.

  • For example, changing the word "room" to "area" is considered unnecessary, as the terms are synonymous.

4. Removed and Unreleased Content

Removed or unreleased Raytraxians, Weapons and Items do not need their own individual page(s).

  • The only time this does not apply is if the Raytrax, Weapon or Item was a fully implemented, public aspect of the game at some point.
    • The only exceptions to the above statement are Charem and Trystan, for whom pages should not be made.
  • Unreleased content should never be written or shown, as any content of this type is subject to change or complete removal.

5. KPE Content

This wiki details content found almost entirely in the main game of Kaiju Paradise.

  • Content from Kaiju Paradise Experimental Build has no place on this wiki until said content is implemented in the main game.
    • Exceptions to the above statement will be made depending on the subject matter. Contact a Wiki Contributor about potential exceptions.

6. Fan Content

As stated above, this wiki details content only found in the main game of Kaiju Paradise.

  • Content that is fan-made or not directly found within Kaiju Paradise has no place on this wiki.

7. Editor Comments

Almost every page on this wiki has Editor Comments. The majority of these editor comments are created by Wiki Contributors and include important information alongside rules for that page.

  • These comments appear in boxes (in the visual editor) and text encased in arrows (in the source editor).
    • It is vital that these comments are read before editing, as they give critical information about editing that specific page.

8. Page History

Every user should utilize the Page History function. Page History allows users to see every edit made to the page, including reverted edits. Each edit is accompanied by a summary explaining what was changed and why.

  • If an edit needs to be reverted, use the undo option.

9. Editing User Pages

Users should not edit other users' profiles. If a user has a rulebreaking profile, report it to a Wiki Contributor on the KP Discord.

|-|Textual Edits=

1. Spell Checking

All editors should utilize any spell-checking tools available.

  • Keep in mind that this wiki uses American English, so be certain to set your local to American English on your spell-checking device.
    • Spell-Checking devices may be found in the Useful Links and Websites section.

3. Informative and Neutral Tone

All text within the pages must represent a neutral, informative tone. Any opinionated text will be removed.

  • The only exception to this rule are the Tips sections found on many individual Weapon and Raytraxian pages.

4. Linking Pages

When linking to another page on the wiki, you should only link to that page once per section.

  • For example, you don't need to link to the Weapons page any time the term "Weapons" is said. One link to the Weapons page is enough for that section.

5. Media Titles

Any mentions of other media (games, websites, etc.) should be italicized when possible. e.g. ''Kaiju Paradise'' will give Kaiju Paradise.

  • Additionally, any mentions of song titles should be written with quotation marks. e.g. "Gas Time Jump Up."
  • This rule is only excluded from template boxes.

6. Crediting

Artists and Creators should be given credit whenever applicable. When crediting a user, only their Roblox username or common name should be used.

  • For example, Ron1n_Sim as a username and Ronin as a commonly referred to name.
  • Adding the user's Roblox username and display name is unecessary.
  • A user's name should only be updated if their username or general name changes.

|-|Media Edits=

1. Good Quality

When creating an image, gif or video, strive to have as high-quality media as possible.

  • Media that is too blurry, pixelated, shaky or otherwise low-quality will be replaced.
    • Alongside this, please use a screen recorder OTHER than Roblox's recorder, as the provided recorder outputs low-quality videos.
  • UI should be cropped out of images if possible.
  • Filters should not be enabled for any media.

2. Anonymity

When creating any media, your avatar should not be recognizable and your username should not be visible. You may use a plain noob/dummy avatar or a Raytraxian, but these characters may not include any clothing that relates directly to your avatar.

  • Dressing up your avatar/Raytraxian is allowed as long as it follows the above rules and does not interfere with the subject matter.
    • Outfits provided by LAMINAX CO. are allowed as long they follow the above rules.
  • If the media requires your username to be seen, you must blur it out.
    • Editing gif/media devices may be found in the Useful Links and Websites section.

3. Unnecessary Media

Media that displays only slight differences from other pre-existing media will be considered unnecessary and removed. </tabber>
