'''Gootraxians''' are the | The '''Gootraxians''' are the opponents to the Humans in ''Kaiju Paradise''. They are composed of a goo-like substance and are usually capable of infecting Humans, turning them into fellow Gootraxians, though some are capable of actually killing a Human. They usually cannot pick up [[items]] or [[weapons]] due to their slippery paws, although there is only one current Gootraxian in game that does have this ability. | ||

The above table is organized to resemble the in-game '''Bestiary''', which was added in the first part of V3.1. The Bestiary serves the purpose of allowing players to view additional information regarding '''Gootraxians''', such as a detailed description, how many you have killed, infects obtained while using them, and how many times you have become them. Hovering over icons inside of the Bestiary will change the icon to an alternative art of the Gootraxian. Doing so multiple times on a singular Gootraxian will, in a few cases, give you an easter egg. | The above table is organized to resemble the in-game '''Bestiary''', which was added in the first part of V3.1. Revision as of 17:08, 27 February 2024
The Gootraxians are the opponents to the Humans in Kaiju Paradise. They are composed of a goo-like substance and are usually capable of infecting Humans, turning them into fellow Gootraxians, though some are capable of actually killing a Human. They usually cannot pick up items or weapons due to their slippery paws, although there is only one current Gootraxian in game that does have this ability.
When a Human loses all of their HP either due to hazards around the map or by another Gootraxian, they will turn into one of them. There are specific items lying around the map that can also turn a Human into a Gootraxian, such as the strange flower. Along with this, there are also food items that can be used on hazards, or can be eaten to turn into a Gootraxian.
Basic Abilities
A few Gootraxians have their own unique abilities that can be found within their respective entries, but almost all have two basic abilities: Grab and Attack. Attack is typically a quick swipe functionally similar to most Human melee weapons, while Grab allows one to grapple a Human, dealing a large amount of damage over time, benefitting from lifesteal, and allowing you to maneuver them into an unfavorable position utilizing environmental hazards.

Grab
"Grab them"
Grab, as its name suggests, allows one to grab their enemy, dealing a high amount of damage over the duration of the Grab. While grabbing your victim, you can slowly move them into environmental hazards such as puddles, crystals and Shork fins, allowing for a quicker infection. While doing so, the Gootraxian's health will regenerate by 25% damage dealt and will gain 15 HP upon a successful infect.
In order to escape a grab, the Human must mash their screen, keyboard, or mouse; alternatively, if the Gootraxian grabbing the Human is interrupted by an attack, they will usually release their victim. This press or click count increases every time they escape from it from a minimum 15 to 30 click counts at max on one life. This can be reduced by killing Gootraxians which decreases it by 2 click counts. Upon breaking out of a grab, the Human will be given a 2 second omen period that prevents them from being grabbed again.
The damage of Grab is dealt every .2 seconds. They can also be almost entirely prevented by using a Scythe at the cost of its durability and slight damage to its wielder. Some Gootraxians also have abilities that add effects to the grab, such as the unique animation of Hebi (and formerly Kawaii Shork and Panther) or Lemon Shork's ability to blur the victim's screen.

Attack
"Attack them"
Attack as stated, is a quick swipe that deals solid damage and allows for quick and efficient finishers, granting you 30 HP regen upon successful infection. This, however, does not knockback nor does it stun Humans. In tandem with Grab, it is possible to deal a large amount of damage to a single Human by swapping to Attack after Grab, as the Grab's cooldown expires while grabbing onto a Human. Using Attack on Humans wearing transmogrifying items such as Catte buckets will knock them off of the Human.
Some Gootraxians deal more damage, such as Manic during Power Outages or in some cases reduced damage, such as Azarue's reduced direct damage.

Gootraxian Spawns
Bestiary
The above table is organized to resemble the in-game Bestiary, which was added in the first part of V3.1. The Bestiary serves the purpose of allowing players to view additional information regarding Gootraxians, such as a detailed description, how many you have killed, infects obtained while using them, and how many times you have become them. Hovering over icons inside of the Bestiary will change the icon to an alternative art of the Gootraxian. Doing so multiple times on a singular Gootraxian will, in a few cases, give you an easter egg.
Entries can be unlocked by infecting 5 Humans in a row as the specific Gootraxian or by killing the specific Gootraxian you wish to unlock 5 times. The only exceptions to this are the Slime Pups, which are only obtained upon becoming one; and the Nightcrawler, which require you to either turn into or kill it once, or infect 10 Humans as a minion.
While in the Bestiary, "Snooping", composed by Fishcracks, will play.
Do note that most of the Bestiary entries do not have a description yet as they are not yet finished.

Removed Gootraxians
- Charem - Was removed in v3D due to controversies with its creator, primarily involving inappropriate actions made towards minors online.[v]
- Tiger Shork - Was added in v3.0 but was removed as of v3.1 due to its design being too similar to a character from a different game.
- It has since been replaced by Lantern Shork in v3.1, which was then replaced by the Wisp in v3.1R
- Trystan and ConeKat - Both were removed in v3.1 per request from FoxxoTrystan, via DMCA notice due to internal conflict between them and the Kaiju Paradise staff.
- ConeKat has since been replaced with Sprinklekit in the Late Winter Update.
- Trystan has since been replaced by Witchbrew in the Hallow's Eve Update.
- Lang, Feizao and Fashui - They were removed in a v3.1 mini-update due to complications with their creator.
- Lang was originally going to be replaced by another community-created Gootraxian named Spunky. However, due to the announcement regarding the discontinuation of the Gootraxian Contributor team, Spunky nor any gas-related Gootraxian will replace Lang.
- Feizao and Fashui were since been replaced by Glubby and Dagoda, respectively, in a June 2023 v3.1 update
- Carneline, Panther and Lantern Shork - They were removed in v3.1R per request from their creator due to wanting to dissociate with the genre Kaiju Paradise is based on.
- Kawaii Shork - Was replaced by Pseudo Shork in v3.1R due to it being Kawaii Shork's redesign.
- It has been readded, though its design was revamped and made as a Costume for the Pseudo Shork in the v3.1R Cosmetics Update.
- Protogen and Dark Protogen - They were removed in v3.1R for unknown reasons, mostly due their design being based on a Canon Furry by the same name. They would be replaced by unnamed Gootraxians in the future.
- Slime Pup Dragon and Slime Dragon - They were removed in v3.1R due to being too similar to a concept from a different game.
- Plantix - Was removed in the v3.1R Cosmetics Update per request and complications with its creator.
- It has been replaced by Azarue, through its Bestiary icon was added later.
- Slime Pup and Slime Hound - They are going to be removed in the future v3.2 update onwards per request by their creator due to wanting to dissociate with KP.
- They will be replaced by Shamrock and Snaptrap respectively.
Tips
The tips are based on certain players game-play and may not entirely be accurate, please keep in mind not all tips apply to certain game styles and some of these tips can cause (but not all) may require some training for.
- Stay in groups, staying in groups can increase survival chances due to you having people to back you up!
- Use Attack on Scythes to deal more effective damage as the grab is rendered as useless due to it doing a small amount of damage and blocking your Grab effect entirely.
- Try avoiding combat near the barrier as you can accidentally run into or be knocked into the barrier, instead utilize your combat at the hazardous zones such as the flooded hallway or the room with the excessive amount of crystals in a small room.
- This tip may be altered due to the Sprinklekit taking damage if they're in water.
- Evade from fights if you and your group is weaker and cannot win the fight as you can easily be killed if your outnumbered and out armed.
- Using Attack when you are attacking someone that is grabbed will infect them quicker or cause their death.
- Let the Slime Pups ride you to get a passive healing increase, and when they are knocked off of you hope that they will Bite or Steal from the enemy
Trivia
- In the previous game, The Underground Facility, the infected creatures were referred to as "Latex monsters". Due to copyright issues with the creator of the game it was based on, it was completely shut down, with TZB Studio beginning work on Kaiju Paradise instead shortly after.
- The only latex monsters to have been migrated from The Underground Facility to Kaiju Paradise are Charem, Protogen, Tiger Shork and Trystan.
- All of them have been removed from the game for reasons stated under the previous heading.
- An unreleased Gootraxian named Moth was also carried over, although it was never made public.
- All of them have been removed from the game for reasons stated under the previous heading.
- The only latex monsters to have been migrated from The Underground Facility to Kaiju Paradise are Charem, Protogen, Tiger Shork and Trystan.
- The meshes for Gootraxians, such as the cheek fluff or tail, were made by Ronin.
- Prior to V3.1R, most of the face assets were made by Blaxor, although a few were made by others.
- A majority of the Bestiary icons prior to V3.1R were done by Mysticalesta, except for Witchbrew, which was made by YukaChaan, and Partyena, which was made by Gloomy.
- Currently, in V3.1R, the all of the Bestiary icons were revamped, now drawn by Milkshake. However, the Partyena's icon remained unchanged.
- Charem and Tiger Shork were the only two Gootraxians to not have an entry within the Bestiary, due to them being removed prior to v3.1.
- Repeatedly hovering over entries in the Bestiary will result in the selecting sound becoming more and more higher pitched before yielding a special effect, along with the icon pulsing.
- A majority of the entries will make the default infection sound.
- Protogen makes a Windows XP error noise.
- This is not shared with Dark Protogen.
- Nightcrawler's icon will begin to pulse rapidly and make their Pursue screeching sounds.
- Jammer plays a short clip of "JAMS" by Fishcracks.
- The twoSlime Gootraxians will make a plushie squeak sound, the one Hounds play is lower pitched, which were the sound they make when they get hurt, which no longer happens currently.
- Buck makes a metal banging sound, matching their Throw ability. The sound effect is also used when the Pipe hits a Gootraxian.
- Feizaoand Fashui's icons will spin and make a cartoon slipping sound effect, matching their Slippery ability.
- Partyena uses the same nose honk sound effect played when another player clicks on its nose.
- Various Gootraxians are able to outright kill Humans instead of infecting them. Said methods are listed below.
- The Slime Pup's bite.
- The removed Slime Dragon Pup's Flying Attack.
- The Hazzy's weapons when equipped with an Hazmat Suit.
- The removedPanther and Hebi's Claw.
- The Buck's Throw.
- The Nuclear Rabbit's Acid Puddle passive.
- Currently, due to an unknown bug, these puddles do not do damage.
- The Nightcrawler's Pursue.
- The removed Feizao, Fashui, and their replacements Glubby and Dagoda's Slippery.
- Any hair accessories being worn at the time of infection will change color depending on which Gootraxian you become.
- Every Slime Gootraxian as well as Figs, Nightcrawler, Glubby and formerly Charem are the only Gootraxians that remove an avatar's hair accessories upon transformation.
- However, this currently appears to be broken for non-Slime Gootraxians as they do not remove hair pieces after transformation.
- Every Slime Gootraxian as well as Figs, Nightcrawler, Glubby and formerly Charem are the only Gootraxians that remove an avatar's hair accessories upon transformation.
- As of V3.1R, all Gootraxians except Slime Pup, Slime Hound and Nightcrawler have blinking animations.
- Before wall hits were made invalid, Gootraxians could grab a human on top of a shelf if they were on a lower tier, seemingly teleporting the human into the grab. This is no longer possible.
- All Gootraxians, whilst doing the Smug or California emote, will change their faces. Jammer and Night Shade will play a fainter version of the emote's respective songs.
- All of the transmogrifying items can be removed from the map by picking them up and resetting your character before becoming infected, as the item will despawn along with your body. This can also be done by picking the item and
- This can also be done by picking the item and donning an Hazmat Suit, resulting in the item knocked away from the player's head. However, this only applies to the "hat" transmogryfying items.
- Gootraxians receive a 25% damage reduction when stunned, this is to prevent them from instantly dying to a large group of survivors after they get stunned.
