"Something is coming."
Panthers were feline Raytraxians available primarily during Blackouts. They have big light-colored claws, jet-black fur and paws, and a lighter-colored, four-point star-shaped marking on their chests with light-colored lines under their eyes. Their eyes glow yellow during Blackouts and Power Outages, unless they are at low HP (lower than half), wherein, they will glow red instead. During this event, while moving, Panthers will leave a yellow, or red (when they are at low HP), trail from their eyes.
Panthers, similar to Kawaii Shork, also possess a unique grab animation where they appear to be choking the player they are currently holding.
Panther was removed and replaced by Hebi in the V3.1 Revamp Update.
Abilities
Increased Health
They are slightly bulkier than other Raytraxians, with a total of 130 HP.
Prepare
Panthers can also prepare during Blackouts and Power Outages, which allows them to highlight survivors through walls around the map for a brief period of time.
-
Panther using prepare to locate players.
Scythe Block (Passive)
They have a varying chance of completely blocking scythe attacks depending on the current map state. If there is no map event, it is a 50% chance. Power Outages it is a 70% chance, and during Blackouts, it is an 85% chance.
Upon blocking a Scythe attack, they will take only 14 damage at the cost of being slowed temporarily instead of ragdolling.
-
Panther blocking a scythe.
Claw
Panthers are capable of actually killing the survivor players by using their claws, in which hits are accompanied with a unique slashing effect.
-
Panther, using claw to kill a player outright.
Rage (Passive)
When a panther is at low HP, specifically below half (64 and below), their rage ability will activate, causing their eyes to glow red. This greatly reduces Claw's cooldown and increase its damage.
Stat | |
---|---|
Damage | During Blackout: 14 (max hp); 28 (during max rage - 1hp)
Lights On: 10 (max hp); 19 (during max rage - 1hp) |
Cooldown | 1 second (default); 0.32 (Max rage - 1hp) |
Effects | Incapable of converting |
Screen Blur
When a Flashlight is used on a Panther, the text "The light from the flashlight irritates your eyes." will appear on the Panther's screen and slowly blur their vision until they are far enough away from the light. Additionally, the glow from a Sprinklekit's eyes will also blur their vision, oddly enough.
-
A Panther being blinded by a flashlight.
-
A Chocolate Sprinklekit blinding a Panther with it's eyes.
Rare Item Drops
Upon death, they have a small chance (12.5%) to drop a Panther Bombarder. They may also drop Strange Crystals, but, much like Carnelines and Kaiju, the chance of dropping a Strange Crystal also depends on how high the Panther's convert streak was before dying, the higher the streak, the higher the chance. A Strange Crystal will only have the potential to drop after 3 converts, and is guaranteed to drop at 20 converts or more.
The chance for the Strange Crystal works as so:
15 + [(Streak - 3) * 5] = Random
Random
= Generated number from 0 - 100, effectively operates the percentage chance.
Streak
= Player's current conversion streak. It must be 3 or higher to have any chance to drop a strange crystal.
-
A practical visualization of the listed equation.
Acquirement
Panthers can be obtained via conversion through the large, white crystals in the Crystal Caves during a Blackout or by being converted by another Panther Raytraxian.
Bestiary Entry
Dubbed the balance-keepers of the cave, Panthers are wild, feral Gootraxians that prowl the facility during Blackouts, using their long, hooked claws and keen senses to stalk the caves they dwell in and seize any unfortunate prey they may find. Keep an eye on the crystals in the cave when blackouts occur. |
