"A fedora has suddenly been placed on top of you..."

Fed is a gray wolf Raytraxian that usually wears a dark grey fedora as an accessory. It lacks any body markings other than the jagged, light grey fur patterns on their wrists and feet, which share the same color as its underbelly, neck fur and inner ears. Fed's eyes are a bright magenta pink color.

Its VIP variant dons a dark grey trench coat and is armed with a Tommy Gun.

Fed is considered to be a counterpart of Shade due to their many similarities.

Abilities

Fedora Drop (Death)

When Fed is killed, the fedora from its head will drop to the ground, waiting to acquire a new host to transform. However, humans wearing a Hazmat Suit cannot pick up the fedora, saving them from the conversion.

Bounty/Boost (VIP Only)

VIP Feds can be killed for 100 Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination immediately after they spawn. For each second that the VIP is alive, an additional 1 Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination is added to their total worth.

Moreover, VIP Fed will apply a 1.5x Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination multiplier to itself and nearby Raytraxians within a limited range, awarding them with extra credits per each convert.

Fedora Trick

If it has a fedora, it can do a fedora trick where it spins its hat. The ability is purely cosmetic and is unavailable if the Fed doesn't have a fedora.

Tommy Gun

The Tommy Gun is a melee weapon exclusive to Fed's VIP variant. It is unable to be fired, making it only useful for attacking people by hitting them with the gun itself.

Acquirement

Fed can be obtained by picking up a dark grey fedora found around the map. Though it can also be obtained via being converted by another Fed Raytraxian, although you won't have the fedora.

There is a 1/30 (3.3%) chance of becoming its VIP variant. This chance becomes more likely depending on your Kill Streak, maxing out at a 1/2 chance at 60 kills.

When you wear the fedora, the following text will pop up, along with a third line appearing exclusively to the VIP variant:

• "A fedora has suddenly been placed on top of you..."
• "Very classy.."
• "A trench coat has been placed on you suddenly."

Bestiary Entry

This raytrax has a more wolf like appearance, bearing pink eyes, and donning a fedora on its head, made of a semifluid rubber-like material. This raytrax was actually created purely on accident, after security forgot to remove all accessories from a subject, and a developing raytrax latched onto a hat. It was among the first to escape containment, causing a small outbreak after a coworker attempted to do a horrible Jackson impression after tipping a fedora on their head. Feds are usually calm and collected, but see humans as animals, and nothing more. They look down upon humans, but aren't necessarily annoyed around them either; more-so taking to teasing and mocking humans at any point they can, commonly seen scoffing at their presence. For further reference, please don't wear hats indoors.

Tips

Please note that most things listed in this section are not objective, and are not the "Correct" way to use them. This section is used to give advice to players who want to learn how to use their tools more efficiently.

• Despite being a Raytraxian exclusive weapon, the Tommy Gun can cancel your teammate's grab attack, so it isn't recommended to use it on a grabbed human.

Trivia

• Fed is one of the only few Raytraxians who can outright kill survivors.
  • In this case, they can do so using their Tommy Gun, which is exclusive to their VIP variant.
• When a Raytraxian uses "Attack" on a survivor with a fedora equipped, it will be knocked off the survivor's head. The text "The fedora was knocked off your head!" appears for the survivor when this happens.
• The Fed's faces were changed on a V3.1 update due to looking "too questionable."
• Fed and Hazzy are currently the only Raytraxians to wield a usable weapon.
• It is possible to get a VIP Fed from dropped fedoras, even if its from another VIP. It remains at the same odds.
• When becoming its VIP variant, the same sound as a human putting on a lab coat/hazmat suit will play, presumably from putting on the trench coat.
• If you use the "Overseer" machete skin and kill a Fed that has its fedora, it will turn invisible, making it act as an invisible "landmine."
  • This also happens with the "Batsaber" and the "Overseen" bat skins.
    • This applies to other Raytraxians that also drop a transmogrifying item after death.
• Fed is one of the few Raytraxians to have a unique idle animation, showing it holding its fedora.

Bugs

• There was a minor bug in which Fed's death face did not show upon dying, instead showing its low HP face.
  • This bug also occurred with Night Shade, Jammer, and Shade.
