"A bucket has suddenly been placed on top of you.."
Catte (simply pronounced as Cat) is an orange feline Raytraxian.
They have pure white eyes and light creamsicle underbellies, neck fur and inner ears. They also usually have bright orange buckets on their heads.
Players converted by a Catte do not have a bucket on their head like those converted normally do, but they are able to pick up new orange buckets found around the map.
Abilities
Bucket Drop (Death)
When killed, the bucket from a Catte's head will drop to the ground, waiting to acquire a new host to transform.
Eject
They may eject the bucket they have on their head. After ejecting it, the Catte is able to re-obtain their bucket by finding another one around the map and stepping on it, which does not include the recently ejected bucket or a bucket dropped via another player. The ejected bucket will despawn after 30 seconds if no one picks it up.

Slip Hazard
Cattes may use their bucket to create a row of puddles in front of them. To create a puddle, the Catte must have "Slip Hazard" tool equipped and then click/tap the screen to create a row of orange puddles. If a human steps in these puddles, they will be ragdolled and take 5 damage.
For every puddle placed, the ability cooldown increases by 6 seconds, for a total of 36 seconds if every puddle is successfully spawned. If a puddle attempts to spawn in an invalid location, it will be ignored by the ability and not spawn at all.
Puddles may be stepped in multiple times by survivors, but the puddles disappear after 15 seconds.

Tool Cooldown | 2.5 Seconds |
Ability Cooldown | 36 Seconds (6 per puddle placed) |

Transformation (Blackout Only)
They can transform into a Buck during Blackouts if they obtain a black bucket, which replace the orange buckets during the event. The orange bucket must be ejected first in order to equip the black bucket.
Removed Abilities
Spill
Cattes may spill the bucket to make a hazard. To create a puddle, the Catte must have "Bucket" equipped and then click/tap the screen to create an orange puddle. If stepped in by a human, these puddles deal 30 damage per instance. If the individual is wearing a Hazmat Suit, the damage dealt is 18 per instance instead. The size of these puddles can be increased if the ability is used on a pre-existing puddle. Creating a puddle deals 10 damage to the Catte while expanding an existing puddle deals 1.75.
Puddles may be stepped in multiple times by survivors, but the puddles disappear after 15 seconds.
-
Catte using the spill ability, leaving behind a dangerous puddle.
Acquirement
Catte can be acquired by walking over an orange bucket from anywhere around the map, losing all health to a Catte puddle or by being directly converted by another Catte Raytraxian, though you won't have the bucket upon conversion for the latter two. It takes about 23 seconds to be converted after putting on the orange bucket.
When equipping the bucket, the following message will appear:
"A bucket has suddenly been placed on top of you.."
Bestiary Entry
A clumsy feline most notable for their striking orange coat, these creatures perhaps lack the intellect to acknowledge or fully understand danger that surrounds them. That, or they quite certainly do not care if or when they are being hunted, and often greet a predatory Raytraxian in the midst of their lengthy stalking. Other Raytraxians have picked up on this behavior, which result in them either being left alone out of pity, or an easy meal. Catte particularly are been observed to each have a special bucket, of which they will wear atop their head, excessively clean, and obsessively take care of. If at any point a Catte were to grow unhappy with their bucket, they've been known to part with their beloved item and simply find a new one - breaking all observable bonds with their original hat. What abruptly makes a bucket undesirable is unknown. When you originate from a janitor thinking chucking buckets at reactive cores is funny, you don't tend to be that bright. |
Tips
Please note that most things listed in this section are not objective, and are not the "Correct" way to use them. This section is used to give advice to players who want to learn how to use their tools more efficiently.
- Catte is very good at shutting down large areas of the map via covering it in buckets and puddles, so it's recommended to set up a puddle in a place where a lot of humans travel through, such as the Cafe Gate, Hound Room, and Garden.
- Your puddles only last around 15 seconds, so it's usually not a good idea to leave your puddle's general area unless you either have another Catte take care of it or don't care about the puddle disappearing.
- It is impossible for Catte to put puddles anywhere inside the Flooded Area, Cafeteria and the Freezer, so it's not recommended to be near those areas unless you don't plan on staying.
- For easy access to playing as Buck, it's usually a good idea to just play as Catte and wait until the event starts, rather than playing another Raytraxian and trying to guess when it happens.
- Catte's unique ability to create puddles on the floor allows you to secure yourself an area to wait near buckets instead of resorting to using the smaller puddles around the map.
- Due to the fact that Catte's abilities are more versatile and easily usable, while Buck's are more difficult and event-locked, some would prefer to avoid playing as Buck if they have a high convert streak.
- Catte's unique ability to create puddles on the floor allows you to secure yourself an area to wait near buckets instead of resorting to using the smaller puddles around the map.
Trivia
- When a Raytraxian uses "Attack" on a survivor with an orange bucket equipped, it will be knocked off the survivor's head. The text "The bucket was knocked off your head!" appears for the survivor when this happens.
- Catte originally took 20 HP of damage upon ejecting the bucket.
- This was removed in V3.1R.
- Catte was the first Raytraxian to leave behind a transmogrifying item after death, this item being its bucket.
- They were originally going to have traffic cones instead of buckets, but this was changed during their development due to similarities to a character from a different game.
- This was most likely reworked into the Slime Pups and their ability to wear traffic cones on their head for extra HP.
- They were originally going to have traffic cones instead of buckets, but this was changed during their development due to similarities to a character from a different game.
- If you use the Overseer machete skin and kill a Catte that has a bucket equipped, the bucket will turn invisible, making it act like an invisible "landmine."
- This also occurs with the "Batsaber" and the "Overseen" bat skins.
- This applies to other Raytraxians that also drop a transmogrifying item after death.
- This also occurs with the "Batsaber" and the "Overseen" bat skins.
- Catte's first redesign was released in V3.1.
- When a Catte turns into a Buck, its face will briefly change to its death face.
- However, after a mini update, its face could be barely seen as the goo covering would start at the characters' head.
- As of the V3.1R Cosmetics Update, this no longer happens as players no longer have transformation animations.
- However, after a mini update, its face could be barely seen as the goo covering would start at the characters' head.
- In the Experimental Build, there is a badge called Trick Shot that is obtained by ejecting its bucket and having it land straight up. If done correctly, the bucket drops a few credits, shoots out confetti, emits a party horn sound effect and text saying "PERFECT FLIP!" will appear above it.
- If the bucket lands on it's top instead of it's bottom, the confetti and badge will not appear, but the "PERFECT FLIP!" text will be replaced by either "SO CLOSE!" or "ALMOST THERE!"
- This feature has since been added to the main game in the V3.1 Late Winter Event, but the badge you will not be rewarded with a badge upon landing the bucket.
- They are the only Raytraxian that are able to turn into a different Raytraxian without dying.
- In this case, they turn into Buck.
- There used to be an easter egg where, if the Catte attempted to use the Spill ability near the bathroom's toilets, the player would explode and die.
- This may have been due to the Spill ability looking similar to a certain bodily fluid, resulting in questionable roleplaying.
- It was removed later due to unintentional bugs.
- This may have been due to the Spill ability looking similar to a certain bodily fluid, resulting in questionable roleplaying.
- Despite being one of the earliest Raytraxians, Catte lacks a Bestiary description.
- Currently, it is one of the Raytraxians to have costumes, being the Snowboarder Catte and the Tiger Catte.
- The "Snowboarder Catte" costume is based on its festive skin used during the V3.1 Late Winter Event.
- When the Spill ability was first introduced, a unique equip and idle animation was also added, featuring the Catte taking the bucket off of its head.
- Before V3.1R, players would first have to equip the "Eject" tool to use the ability. If the player attempted to use the ability with Attack or Grab equipped without equipping "Eject" first, the game would state "You need to have Eject equipped to use your ability."
- This was removed when the "Eject" ability was updated to no longer attach to pre-existing tools.
- The Catte's pose and facial expression seen in the Experimental Build's game icon seems to be similar to the one seen in the Saturn's pre-V3.1R Bestiary icon, but with the left hand lowered.
- As of V3.2, the Spill ability is now in a separate tool called "Bucket", instead of pressing the ability keybind with "Eject" equipped.
Bugs
- Currently, there's a bug where, if you pick up a Catte bucket and get converted in a Catte puddle, the bucket will be flung off your head, but you will still have the "Eject" ability.
- Trying to use "Eject" without a bucket equipped would result in the "Eject" tool being removed and the following text appearing: "I think there's a problem."
- However, you will still be able to use the "Spill" ability, but bucket in question will appear invisible.
- Trying to use "Eject" without a bucket equipped would result in the "Eject" tool being removed and the following text appearing: "I think there's a problem."
- There are certain areas of the map where Catte will not be able to place puddles despite some surfaces appearing to be flat.
