Revision as of 04:17, 15 October 2023
Items are tools that are mostly made to be used by humans. All of the items in-game have a universal cooldown system even after switching or unequipping the items, which can be seen by the blue bar at the bottom of the screen. Most of them also have durability represented by the green bar, which, when depleted, breaks that item and renders it useless.
All items are temporary. They can be lost upon infection, death, leaving the game, throwing the item away in a trash can, or when the item breaks/runs out of durability. However, Hazzy will also lose their equipped Weapon and Hazmat Suit once 90 damage has been dealt by any means.
In most cases these items cannot be obtained by Gootraxians due to their slippery paws, unless through illegitimate ways.<ref>Examples: hacking, glitches, VIP admin commands.</ref> The only exception from that being Hazzy, which can equip certain items while wearing a Hazmat Suit.
Utilities
Utility items are items that serve a purpose of helping the player.
Bloxy Cola
Bloxy Colas are both a consumable and tradable item that can be sold to Abble's Shop for 2
. They can be acquired primarily by destroying Vending Machines, which can be done by hitting them enough times or by finding them in food spawns. The number of colas in a vending machine depends on how many players there are in the server. Bloxy Colas dropped by Vending Machines will despawn after 60 - 70 seconds if they are not picked up. Bloxy Colas can be stolen and drunk by Slime Pups unless the user is wearing a Hazmat Suit. If a pup drinks one it will be healed for 15 health. Trading them in on private servers won't grant you any tokens.
As a consumable, Bloxy Colas can be drank once, providing the user regeneration of 30 health over a relatively short time window. Drinking one will prompt the dialogue "This thing is extremely sweet!".
Bloxy Colas may also be shaken up by jumping 7+ times. When opened, the can will blow up, ragdolling and flinging the user, as well as dealing 30 damage to the consumer after its attempted consumption. These shaken colas can also be drunk by Slime Pups, which will explode in their face, providing the same effect as if it were the user trying to drink it. The item only records the player's jumps while it's being held, so unequipping the item resets the jump count.

<tabber> |-|Medkit=
Medkit
The Medkit is an item that can be bought from Abble's Shop for 5
or found around the facility randomly. It can be used to heal yourself or others by 75 health and has a slight charge before you can use it. Using a medkit will slow down its user, whether they are healing themselves or another player. It takes around 3 seconds for a medkit to be used, and the target must have taken more than 10 damage to be able to be healed by a medkit. Each medkit only has a single use, and medkits can be stolen by Slime Pups unless the user is wearing a Hazmat Suit.
Upon using a medkit, the text "Healing yourself/[player].." will appear.
The following text will be granted, depending on the different scenarios a medkit may be used in:
- "I don't need to use it yet..." (if the player attempts to use a medkit on themselves at or near full health)
- "Seems like they don't need it..." (if the target the player is trying to heal is at or near full health)
- "There's no point in healing them..." (if the target gets infected or dies while being healed)
- "[player] is too far away.." (if the target is too far away from the player)
- "You stopped healing yourself/[player].." (if a medkit is unequipped while being used)
When used successfully, the text "Successfully healed yourself.." will display if it was used on oneself, or "Successfully healed [player].." if it were used on another player.
On the receiving end of a medkit heal, the following text will be granted for the player, depending on the situation:
- [player] is healing you.. (upon another player trying to heal them)
- [player] has failed to heal you.. (upon the other player unequipping the medkit, being infected or killed while being healed or walking away from the healer)
- [player] has successfully healed you.. (upon a successful heal from another player)

Medkit
The Medkit is a uncommon utility items that resembles the Medkit from Kaiju Paradise almost identically.
Using the Medkit will apply a "Health Boost" effect that will rapidly increase your natural health regeneration rate when active, though this effect goes away when you start regenerating health, the health boost can only be stacked twice.
The Medkit can be found commonly in airdrops, usually spawning in groups of 1-4 when opening a airdrop.

Flashlight
The Flashlight is an item that can be found around the map in certain locations, only obtainable during a Blackout. The flashlight can be turned on / off and provides illumination, lighting up the dark environment it faces in a white light. The flashlight can be turned on and then unequipped in order to be used with other tools, sitting on the players hip to continue providing light until its durability is drained.
When used on a Panther, the text "The light from the flashlight irritates your eyes." will appear on the Panther's screen and slowly blur their vision until they are far enough away from the light. When on, durability is drained. This durability only lasts about 2 minutes before running out completely and, upon breaking, will prompt the text: "The flashlight ran out of batteries.." Flashlights can be stolen by Slime Pups unless the user is wearing a Hazmat Suit.

|-|Torch=
Torch
The Torch was a limited time replacement for the flashlight during the Hallows Eve event. When held, the torch would produce a vibrant, warm yellow light to its surroundings. Unlike the flashlight, however, it did not have a fixed time allotted for its use, allowing it to be used indefinitely as a light source. It was scattered more thoroughly throughout the facility and, alongside this, both Survivors and Gootraxians were able to pick up and utilize the torch at any point in time, including outside of a Blackout.

|-|Kaiju Engine Combat Test=
Flashlight
The Flashlight is a common weapon resembling a generic flashlight with no redeemable features. It can be found at every spawn in the combat test.
Pressing left click will turn on or off the flashlight, holding right click while in first person will let you use it as a weapon, it's stats are identical to the knife, the only difference being that you can't throw it.
Similarly to the flashlight in Kaiju Paradise, once you pick up the Flashlight it will become attached to the players hip, lighting up the area without you having to hold it.

Fireflies
The Fireflies is a jar that emits a passive light and releases yellow particles of light when used. It could have been bought in Abble's Shop for 2
, but is currently no longer available. When opened, fireflies will come out of the jar and emit a small amount of light until they eventually disappear. Unlike other items, this item has no durability and can be used infinitely.

Hazmat Suit
Script error: No such module "Main".
The Hazmat Suit is a form of protective gear that can be found throughout the facility and worn by the player. It protects the player against environmental hazards, prevents Slime Pups from stealing held items and prevents most transmogrifying items from being worn. Upon being infected while wearing a Hazmat Suit, the player will be transformed into a Hazzy.

|-|Strange Labcoat=
Strange Labcoat
The Labcoat is a form of cosmetic gear that can be found throughout the facility and worn by the player. It has no actual affects, being purely cosmetic and can be taken off at any time via interacting with a Labcoat rack again or by wearing a Hazmat Suit. Upon interacting with a Labcoat shelf during a Blackout, however, there is a 1/8 (12.5%) chance that a Strange Labcoat will be worn instead, which will infect a survivor into a Sinox if they do not remove the labcoat within a certain amount of time. These labcoats are virtually the same in appearance to any others, but sport a dark purple glow and passive particles that emit from the labcoat.
Labcoats may also be worn by Sinox, although much like its humanly use, it is purely cosmetic and provides no advantages or buffs to the player.

|-|Taser=
Taser
Main article: Taser
The Taser serves as both a Transmogrifying item and an usable weapon. It is capable of stunning Gootraxians once, breaking after it has been used. Alternatively, walking into any body of water while holding a taser will electrocute the user, transforming them into a Ghost Fox. Tasers can be stolen by Slime Pups unless the user is wearing a Hazmat Suit.

|-|Ice Cream Cones=
Ice Cream Cones
Ice Cream Cones are a group of items that can be found in the Cafeteria within a freezer. When the first 4 are eaten, you will only be warned to not eat anymore. Upon eating a 5th, you will transform into a Sprinklekit. Ice Cream Cones can be stolen and eaten by Slime Pups unless the user is wearing a Hazmat Suit.
The Ice Cream Cones have different text depending on the flavor of the consumed cone, although the variation is small. There are four available flavors of ice cream: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Mint. The flavor of ice cream you get from the freezer is random outside of any events, being a random selection between vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. During a Power Outage, all ice cream cones received from the freezer will be strawberry, while during a Blackout will unlock its event-exclusive Mint flavor.
When eaten, the following text will appear:
- "Mmm vanilla/chocolate/strawberry/mint ice cream!"
Upon eating the third cone, a different text will appear:
- "My stomach is freezing cold.."
- "It would be wise to stop eating anymore of these.."
The fourth cone consumed has no special text, but upon eating the 5th and final cone, the text "Ugh.. headache.." will appear before you transform into the flavor of the fifth ice cream cone you ate. It takes around 15 seconds after eating the last ice cream cone to be transformed.

|-|Witchbrew=
Witchbrew
Witches' Brews are virtually the same as Bloxy Colas, other than the fact that they give 5
instead of 2
when sold. It is exclusively obtainable from destroying Vending Machines, where its lesser counterpart may also be found. Upon consumption, a text appears that reads "Tastes.. weird..." will be prompted, providing the user regeneration of 30 health over a relatively short time window, before its consumer is transformed into a Witchbrew. Witchbrews may also be stolen and drunk by Slime Pups unless the user is wearing a Hazmat Suit.
Similarly to Bloxy Colas, trading in a can of Witchbrew will not grant any tokens on a private server.
Witchbrews are the replacements of Trystan Cola, due to the rarity of the item and the extra tokens gained upon selling them compared to a Bloxy Cola. Cans of Witchbrew may also be shaken up jumping 7+ times, which, when opened, will blow up, causing the user to be ragdolled and flung, as well as immediately being turned into a Witchbrew, regardless of if they have a Hazmat Suit on. Much like Bloxy Colas, these shaken up cans may also be drunk by Slime Pups, which will explode in their face and provide the same effect as if it were the user trying to drink it, minus the transformation into its associated Gootraxian.

|-|Lemon Slice=
Lemon Slice
The Lemon Slice can be found on a shelf in the cafeteria and in the storage bay on a rack. When eaten, the text "Ugh.. sour.. I'd be better off using it on something else..." will be displayed, which does not provide its consumer with any upsides or downsides. However, this item can be carried into the Flooded Area, of which will transform you into a Lemon Shork upon touching the Shork fin while holding the slice. Upon transforming, the text "The shark reacted strangely to the lemon you carried.." will be shown.
Upon touching a Shork fin with a Lemon Slice, it will also turn into a Lemon one, seen below.
It can also be stolen and eaten by Slime Pups unless the player is wearing a Hazmat Suit, the latter of which, unlike other foods, doesn't heal them. Instead, it will deal 30 damage and can even kill them, prompting the pup that had eaten the lemon the text, "Your stomach hurts..". If they die by eating it, the Slime Pup will dissolve into nothing while playing a fart sound effect with extra reverb.

|-|Watermelon=
Watermelon
Watermelons are a consumable found in the Cafeteria randomly on the tables or table seats and always spawn on one particular shelf in the same area. It does nothing when eaten, but it can be carried into the Flooded Area, of which will transform you into a Watermelon Shork during a Power Outage or Blackout event upon walking into one of the Shork fins. Upon transforming, the text "The shark reacted strangely to the watermelon you carried.." will be shown.
Upon touching a Shork fin with a Watermelon, it will also turn into a Melon one, seen below.
The text "..." will display when eaten. If a Watermelon is eaten in close proximity to a Watermelon Shork, the text will instead say "You should probably run away while you can...", in reference to the rage bar passive. |-|Strange Crystal=
Strange Crystal
A Strange Crystal is an item which emits a yellow light and has a chance to drop by either killing a Kaiju, Carneline or a Panther. They can be sold to Abble’s Shop for 7
or be eaten by a regular Slime Pup of any variant and turn them into a Rainbow Pup. Upon doing this, the one who feeds it will receive the badge Perficiendus Perfectum. Like all other tradable items, selling one in a private server will not grant any tokens.
On the side of the Slime Pup after eating a Strange Crystal, the text "Something is happening to your body.." will appear shortly before and explosion, turning them into a Rainbow Pup.
NOTE: The chance for dropping the Strange Crystal as described below is temporarily removed.
The Gootraxian must have at least an infection streak of three for the crystal to have a chance of dropping. The higher the streak, the higher the chance of it dropping.
The chance for the Strange Crystal works as so:
<math>15 + [(Streak - 3) * 5] = Random</math>
<math>Random</math> = Generated number from 0 - 100, effectively operates the percentage chance.
<math>Streak</math> = Player's current infection streak. It must be 3 or higher to have any chance to drop a strange crystal.

Upon eating the Strange Fruit, the text following text will display:
- "Tastes.. weird..?"
A couple seconds after the first prompt, the text will continue:

Upon spawning into the server, the text "[SERVER]: Something mysterious has appeared somewhere on the map.." will be announced globally.
Donning the goggles will grant the text:
- "You decided to wear this strange goggle..."
- "You feel as if you are invincible..."
It takes about 30 seconds to be turned into the Nightcrawler after putting on the goggles, which subsequently takes exactly 1.20 seconds to do. The goggles may be worn even while wearing a Hazmat Suit and, while wearing the goggles, its wearer is immune to all other forms of infection, though still susceptible to damage.

Non-transmogrifying Foods
Non-transmogrifying foods are items that can be freely eaten by humans with no consequence, with almost all of them having the exact same properties. They serve little purpose besides the fact that they can be fed to Slime Pups to replenish their health. Contrary to popular belief, these items will not restore any health to a human if eaten.
These are consumable items that can be found around the map, they can also be stolen and eaten by Slime Pups, unless the user is wearing a Hazmat Suit.
Banana
Bananas are a consumable item that can be bought in Abble's Shop for 1
or found in the Cafeteria on the tables. When eaten, the text "Mmm.. taste good!" will appear, with the remains of the banana falling on the floor. IT is a VIP exclusive item, but it can be obtained in public servers by mods. IT is a circular ball with the Nightshade's normal expression stretched and plastered across it. IT shares a striking resemblance to the Contraband, having a cooldown of 0.2 seconds despite not having any sort of special effect upon clicking.
The IT can be stolen by Slime Pups unless the user is wearing a Hazmat Suit.
-
An IT being held by a player.
Admin-Exclusive Items
These items can only be used by moderators (Only in Private servers & the Experimental Build), administrator ranked individuals and above. They cannot be obtained normally or via the usage of the VIP server's commands.
LMX AP
LMX AP, otherwise known as Laminax Anti-Pup, is an Admin-Exclusive item. It represents a sample of a prototype anti-pup formula, appearing as a glowing magenta substance contained within a glass vial. LMX AP mechanically serves the same purpose as the Lemon Slice, as a form of bait. However, unlike the Lemon Slice, it is unable to be consumed by the user, and guarantees the death of the pup.
It cannot be used for anything, but can be stolen & eaten by Slime Pups. Upon consumption and after a brief period of time, the pup will proceed to explode, killing the pup and leaving behind glowing magenta puddles in its place, akin to how a Nuclear Rabbit would. Except the magenta puddles are only for visual effect and dissipate shortly after.

Trivia
General
- In VIP servers, all items in Abble's Shop can be bought for free with the exception of skin crates.
- On New Years, every time a player gets a 5 kill/infect streak or dies, a firework will launch to the sky.
- This mechanic was removed in the game after the event was over, though the item can still be bought in Abble's Shop.
- In Experimental, there is a 1/50 (2%) chance<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/510886407770734645/994389281894309958/unknown.png Message chance stated by developer Bronze, July 6 2022.</ref> that the message for Nightcrawler goggles spawning will be replaced with: "[SERVER]: It appears an item of devious quality has suddenly been summoned in an area of this location..."
- During the April Fools 2022 Update, the goggles would appear regularly around the map during normal conditions. However, when equipped, the message "lol fake goggle! 😊😊😊😊" would appear and a laughing sound could be heard, mocking the player for thinking the goggles were real.
- When the update was first released, the goggles would actually turn the player into a Nightcrawler, but this was quickly fixed.
- Feeding a watermelon slice to a Slime Pup near Blaxor used to give you a badge called "Ferocious Move", but this has since been removed due to being too unfair and hard to get.
- All stealable items can be stacked in a player's inventory, allowing a user to have multiple of it by getting the items a Slime Pup is holding. It is unknown if this is a bug or not.
- In VIP servers, you can still obtain items that can normally to be sold to Abble for tokens, such as Bloxy Colas and Strange Crystals.
- However, attempting to sell them will give you no tokens and the text that normally says how many tokens you received will instead say "NOPE!" and you receive 0 tokens
- Eating a lemon slice as a Slime Pup at low health will cause the pup to have a unique death, where they vanish and a fart sound is played.
- Gootraxians are also able to hit the tree in the Garden which will drop Strange Fruit as usual, however this will not break the tree.
- Emergency Flashlights that are turned on can still blind Panthers while on the ground or when carried by a Slime Pup.
- Moderators cannot use or display items exclusive weapons in public servers unless on certain conditions.<ref>(Examples: Experimental Build, allowed by higher ranks, etc.)</ref> Getting caught using them will get them warned and even demoted by a higher rank.
- Developers and Administrators, however, can use them freely and as much they please.
Item Notes
- There used to be an item called the Strange Collar that upon wearing, would transform the user into Charem. It was removed alongside the Gootraxian due to controversy with its creator.
- There was also another item called Trystan Cola that upon drinking, transformed the user into Trystan. It was removed alongside the Gootraxian due to a DMCA notice from its creator, and internal conflict between them and TFE staff.
- The item was replaced with the Witches' Brew, and the gootraxian was also replaced with Witchbrew.
- The Ice Cream used to be able to transform you to ConeKat. Despite the Gootraxian's removal, the item has stayed in the game due to its replacement, Sprinklekit, being added.
- Sledgehammers, Knives, Scythes, Trystan Cola, Strange Collar and Lemon Slices used to be purchasable in Abble's Shop before they were eventually removed.
- LMX AP was conceptually designed and modelled by composer and developer Fishcracks.
- The Dance Grenade used in-game is a reference to the Boogie Bomb from Fortnite.
- Its dance and respective music are that from the Monster Mash Dance Potion.
- The red stress ball used in the game is a reference to Skweezy Jibb's video about the Earth being round, where he demonstrates that the ball sitting in place is clearly irregular if the Earth was round, which is why he claimed that it wasn't round. This was because the ball hadn't moved.
- The IT is a reference to the P-ball meme in TFE's Official Discord.
Known Bugs
NOTE: Most bugs that are noted here are from previous versions. They have been fixed and cannot be replicated in the game's current, most stable version.
- The ice cream cone's top two scoops change color to match the cone's color when dropped on the floor from a Slime Pup stealing it.
- This has not been fixed.
- Some weapons that can ragdoll / knockback such as Bricks or the Scythe can immobilize the target for a certain amount of time or fling them really far if done correctly.
- This can still happen from time to time. However, it is very rare.
- In V3.1 Part 2, spamming the Stress Ball enough can get you kicked due to "Sound remote is being spammed."
- If you have a Strange Crystal and multiple Pups try to eat it at the same time, sometimes both or even multiple of them will have eaten it if timed well.
- You could drop the taser and it could be picked up by the Gootraxians.
- There are some ways to bypass the cooldown by using bugs and/or methods such as:
- Using a FPS unlocker.
- Doing certain specific glitches.
- Abusing a glitch where Hazmat Suits may temporarily ignore the cooldown immediately after they are torn apart, if timed correctly.
- Hitting a tree, in which it gets ignored for a short amount of time.
- Upon the start / end of events such as Blackout or Power Outage. Timing it right will cause it to be ignored for a short period of time.
- Stealing a Claymore or Landmine as a Slime Pup will teleport you out of the map.
- When equipping a Medkit for the first time whilst in midair, it will send you flying in a random direction.
