Hazmat Suit

Template:Gootraxian The Hazmat Suit is a form of protective wearable gear for the Human team that reduces or even prevents types of damage to the player. It can be found throughout the map at several different spawn locations with a respawn time of 360 seconds (6 minutes) per location. Hazzy also has the ability to wear Hazmat Suits, which will grant the Gootraxian the ability to pick up one item.

Upon equipping the suit, the text "You feel safer with this thing on.." will appear. If the player attempts equip different clothing while already wearing the suit, the text "It's too tight, you can't take it off.." will appear. If the Hazmat Suit is destroyed, it will prompt the text "Your hazmat suit has been torn apart.."

Admins, including VIP Admins in private servers, can spawn and equip a hazmat suit by using the command :hazmat, hazmatsuit, hm

Appearance

The Hazmat Suit looks like a typical protective hazmat suit with an orange coloration, colored bands, as well as gloves. The Laminax logo is present on the suit. Wearing one will override any clothing the player is wearing. It will not override the player's accessories, and if a player is wearing a t-shirt, it will override the Hazmat Suit.

Effects

The damage received from non-instant-infection hazards while wearing the suit will be reduced significantly, from 30 to 18 damage per hit. The Hazmat Suit can withstand eight instances of hazard damage before the suit gets destroyed.<ref>(example: Crystals, all puddles)</ref> The Hazmat Suit will also negate instant-infection hazards completely<ref>(example: Shork Fins, Toxic Rabbit canisters)</ref> regardless of its durability, destroying the hazmat suit in the process.<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/510886407770734645/992742719736782889/unknown.png Hazmat Suit's functions explained, June 8 2021.</ref>

The Hazmat Suit also prevents the player from equipping transmogrifying items (with the exception of the Night Vision Goggles, which can still be equipped to turn the player into a Nightcrawler). If a player equips a Hazmat Suit while wearing a transmogrifying item, the accessory will be ejected off of the player in the time it would otherwise take to transform them.

The Hazmat Suit also has interactions with different Gootraxian abilities, listed below.

• Nullifies the slowdown effects of Sprinklekit's (and previously, Conekat's) puddles.
• Prevents Slime Pups from stealing items.

If the player is infected by a Gootraxian or infected via a non-instant-infection hazard while wearing a Hazmat Suit, the suit will begin to shake violently and tear apart, turning the player into a Hazzy with the following text:

• "Something is wrong with this hazmat suit.."
• "It starts shaking violently.."

Trivia

• The Hazmat Suit was made by Stew Fox.
• The texture and look of the Hazmat Suit changed in 3.1R, becoming more orange-ish colored and having a different design.
• After being torn apart, the cooldown will be ignored for a short amount of time. This is technically a bug.
• For the April Fools 2022 event, the Hazmat Suit's appearance was changed to a clown suit.
  • Similarly, during the April Fools 2024 event, the appearance of the Hazmat Suit was changed to dirty, tattered clothes during the first patch, and Leather Armor from the popular game Minecraft during the second patch.
• The Hazmat Suit used to lower the rate of damage by and the difficulty to escape from a Gootraxian’s grab attack. However, this was removed for balancing reasons.
• Hazmat Suits would instantly respawn after being torn apart by a Human or a Hazzy, this was fixed after the V3.1 Anniversary Event.
• Hazmat used to prevent spikes from directly infecting the Hazmat user.
• The texture of the Hazmat Suit is available on the LAMINAX CO. store for the game as pants and a shirt, being called "LMX - Cleanup Crew".
