The Machete is a weapon that can be purchased in Bandit's Store, or found around the map. It appears to be a generic Kukri with a crude rubber tape grip. Its golden variant, Maki, is a long black rod with a glowing spike and 8 golden machetes attached at its tip, fashioned into an umbrella shape.

Properties

With a slightly increased swing speed and more damage, the Machete acts as a harder hitting weapon, being able to consistently three shot most Raytraxians, albeit at the cost of a longer cooldown and shorter stun duration. It lends well to being used for solo play, or in conjunction with stunning weapons.

Upon breaking, text at the bottom of the screen will say: "The machete snapped in half."

Maki is more suited for dealing with long-term opponents, dealing slightly less damage than its non-golden counterpart in exchange for permanently decreasing the target's max HP by 3 points on top of its base damage. Given Maki's abundant durability, it is arguably the best weapon for dealing with Nightcrawlers, as one Maki with full durability would be able to permanently remove 192 HP from the Nightcrawler before breaking. The wielder is also able to fold Maki, lowering the machete blades on top to align with the handle. This doesn't serve any practical use, as it simply makes the weapon's hitbox smaller.

Upon breaking, text at the bottom of the screen will say: "Maki broke apart."

• The Machete, Axe, Knife, Sledge Hammer, Katana and the Crowbar, share the same breaking sound effect.

As of V3.3, the Machete currently has 19 skins.

Obtainment

The Machete can be bought from Bandit's Shop for 16 Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination. Alternatively, it can be found in random spots around the map for players to pick up.

Maki can only be obtained by getting a 30 Kill/Infect streak with a Machete used for the 30th kill.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

• Can be purchased at Bandit's Shop or found within the map
• Very good damage
• Long raw range
• Very good durability

Cons:

• Extremely low stun duration
• Long cooldown
• Low knockback
• Can only hit 2 players per swing

Tips

Please note that most things listed in this section are not objective, and are not the "Correct" way to use them. This section is used to give advice to players who want to learn how to use their tools more efficiently.

• The Machete is a more extreme version of the Pipe, doing even more damage and having more durability at the cost of an even longer cooldown, shorter stun duration, and lower max hit.
  • It is recommended to use the machete if you don't plan on being in a large group for an extended period of time, as the stats compliment other weapons poorly.
• With it's damage output, the Machete is a solid weapon to have whenever fighting the Nightcrawler, the high damage per swing can be monumentally handy to offset their health regen, especially when they have low rage.
• Machetes aren't very good for dealing with large groups of Raytraxians at once due to the lower max hit stat compared to other weapons.
  • On the contrary, the machete is one of the best weapons to use in 1v1s, since stun time and max hit don't matter in evenly matched fights, allowing its high damage stat to shine.
    • If you pair a Machete with a Katana, you can deal around 100 damage if you hit all 4 swings successfully. This is capable of killing most Raytraxians if you don't take passive healing into consideration.

Trivia

• If you use the Overseer skin and kill a Raytraxian that drops a transmogrifying item after death, the item will turn invisible, making it act like an invisible "landmine".
• The Machete was a shop exclusive weapon until the April Fools 2024 Update, now having a chance to spawn within the map at certain locations.
• Maki uses the redesigned Golden Machete model from the Kaiju Engine test game in its design, featuring 8 of them.
