"Something is coming."

Template:GootraxianHebi is a serpentine Gootraxian available primarily during Blackouts. They have dark, monochrome purple skin covered in black rings all over their body, with lighter monochrome purple underbellies, hands, and feet. Their eyes are a bright purple with neon green irises and purple pupils. Their eyes glow green during Blackouts and Power Outages, unless they are at low HP (lower than half), wherein, they will glow purple instead. During this event, while moving, Hebi will leave a green (or purple when they are at low HP) trail from their eyes.

Abilities

Increased Health

Hebi is much bulkier than other Gootraxians, with a total of 130 HP.

Prepare

Hebi can also prepare during Blackouts and Power Outages, which allows them to highlight survivors through walls around the map for a brief period of time.

Scythe Block (Passive)

They have a varying chance of completely blocking scythe attacks depending on the current map state. If there is no map event, it is a 50% chance. During Power Outages it is a 70% chance, and during Blackouts, it is an 85% chance.<ref name="source1">https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/858029724664463400/992231994018766898/muscular_panthers.png Update log of HP buff and scythe block passive, December 21 2021.</ref>

Upon blocking a scythe attack, they will take only 14 damage at the cost of being slowed temporarily instead of ragdolling.<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/858029724664463400/992232514976481280/MORE_MUSCULAR_PANTHERS.png Update Log for scythe block causing 1/2.5 damage, August 26 2021.</ref>

Claw

Hebi is capable of actually killing the survivor players by using their claws, in which hits are accompanied with a unique slashing effect.<ref name="source1" />

Rage (Passive)

When Hebi is at low HP, specifically below half (64 and below), their rage ability will activate, causing their eyes to glow red. This greatly reduces Claw's cooldown and increase its damage.

Claw's Statistics
Stat
Value
Damage During Blackout: 14 (max hp); 28 (during max rage - 1hp)

Lights On: 10 (max hp); 19 (during max rage - 1hp)

Cooldown 1 second (default); 0.32 (Max rage - 1hp)
Effects Non-infectious

Screen Blur

When a Flashlight is used on Hebi, the text "The light from the flashlight irritates your eyes." will appear on the Hebi's screen and slowly blur their vision until they are far enough away from the light. Additionally, the glow from a Sprinklekit's eyes will also blur their vision, oddly enough.

Rare Item Drops

NOTE: The chance for dropping the Strange Crystal as described below is temporarily removed.

Upon death, they have a small chance (12.5%) to drop a Hebi Bombarder. They may also drop Strange Crystals, but, much like Carnelines and Kaiju, the chance of dropping a Strange Crystal also depends on how high the Hebi's infect streak was before dying, the higher the streak, the higher the chance. A Strange Crystal will only have the potential to drop after 3 infects, and is guaranteed to drop at 20 infects or more.

The chance for the Strange Crystal works as so:

<math>15 + [(Streak - 3) * 5] = Random</math>

<math>Random</math> = Generated number from 0 - 100, effectively operates the percentage chance.

<math>Streak</math> = Player's current infection streak. It must be 3 or higher to have any chance to drop a strange crystal.<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/858029724664463400/992228955224551435/crystal_math.png Strange Crystal drop rate formula, December 19 2021.</ref>

Acquirement

Hebi can be obtained via infection through the large, white crystals in the Crystal Caves during a Blackout or by being infected by another Hebi Gootraxian.

Bestiary Entry

Dubbed the balance-keepers of the cave, Panthers are wild, feral Gootraxians that prowl the facility during Blackouts, using their long, hooked claws and keen senses to stalk the caves they dwell in and seize any unfortunate prey they may find.
These Gootraxians are extremely agile, having developed uniquely long limbs to move unhindered quadrupedally and bipedally. When enraged, specialized circulatory vessels around their eyes fill with blood, causing them to glow red, and the fur on their tails puffs out and becomes sharp and quill-like. While quite rare to see in person, Panthers may sometimes hunt Slime Pups for sustenance.

Keep an eye on the crystals in the cave when blackouts occur.

Trivia

A Hebi throwing a Slime Pup, dealing 45 damage.
  • Hebi are one of the only few Gootraxians who can outright kill survivors.
    • In this case, they can do so by using their claws.
    • The only other gootraxians who can kill survivors to this day are Glubby, Dagoda, Buck, Fed (as its VIP variant), Hazzy, and Nightcrawler.
  • If a Slime Pup attempts to ride on Hebi's back, the Hebi will grab and slam them off their back, dealing 45 damage as well as being accompanied with a variety of humorous sounds.
    • Hebi are the only Gootraxian that have this ability.
