The Bat is the player's primary weapon in Kaiju Paradise. It has the appearance of a typical wooden baseball bat. Its golden variant, Ichiban, is a bat made of solid gold with black masking tape on its grip, as well as glowing yellow spikes and barbed wire wrapped around its cap.

Properties

A versatile and reliable weapon due to its ease of access, the Bat, while not as powerful as it's contemporaries, offers a solid baseline. Its wide swings offer a relative ease in hitting Raytraxians, and its decent cooldown allows it to serve well enough in most cases.

Upon breaking, text at the bottom of the screen will say: "The bat cracked and snapped in half."

Ichiban, unlike the regular Bat, is much faster in terms of swing speed and cooldown, capable of stun-locking opponents with good timing. It also comes with having some of the highest durability in the game, only comparable to other golden weapons. This comes with the small downside of doing greatly reduced damage, doing less than half of its non-golden counterpart, although the cooldown more than makes up for it.

Upon breaking, text at the bottom of the screen will say: "Ichiban disintegrated."

As of V3.3, the Bat currently has 98 skins.

Obtainment

The Bat can easily be purchased from Bandit's Shop for free or found and picked up from certain locations around the map. These spawns are fixed and supply an infinite amounts of bats.

Ichiban can be randomly obtained per 30 kill streak.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Has plenty of spawns around the map

Cons:

  • Long omen duration
  • Low Damage
  • Low Knockback
  • Low Raw Reach
  • Long Cooldown

Tips

Please note that most things listed in this section are not objective, and are not the "Correct" way to use them. This section is used to give advice to players who want to learn how to use their tools more efficiently.

  • The bat, despite its shortcomings, is actually a fairly decent weapon.
  • Its two second stun time makes it particularly effective in conjunction with other, harder hitting weapons such as the Sledge Hammer, or better yet, the Chainsaw.
    • While other options maybe far more appealing, sticking with other players armed with these weapons (particularly the Chainsaw), can massively increase your effectiveness as a team.
  • If you're ever short of a weapon, the Bat is always there. A spawn can nearly always be found nearby, whether that's in Gas, the Cafe, or Crystal Cave, the bat has your back.
  • If there's ever too many Raytraxians, there's nothing wrong with grabbing a bat and throwing yourself repeatedly at the crowd until it begins to break. Remember, so long as you hit more than one of them, you'll be out damaging more than they can heal.
    • Bats have the same max hit count as Long Pipes, making them an effective tool against groups of Raytraxians, especially if you don't have a Long Pipe with you, or you are saving it.
  • Having a bat in your inventory is vital, as it is able to be used as a practical weapon to stun enemies or take down less hostile enemies without damaging other tools in your inventory.
  • Certain bat skins that glow may help you in a Power Outage or Blackout, as Flashlights only have a certain amount of time before they run out of power, but skins have no durability loss when equipped. Keep your bat in good shape to use it as a light.

Trivia

  • Before the Slime Raytraxians were removed, killing a golden variant used to guarantee a Golden Bat drop on top of upgrading the weapon used to kill it. It was then changed to drop two random golden weapons instead.
    • With the removal of the Slime Raytraxians, the only way to obtain golden weapons is through a 30 Kill/Convert streak.
  • If a Hazzy obtains a Golden Weapon of any kind (excluding the Golden Crowbar), they will not drop the weapon upon their hazmat suit ripping. It is unknown if this is a bug or not.
  • In private servers, there was an exact copy of the Bat called "TestBat" which unlike the original one, didn't have an icon, had a very short cooldown, and did not retain skins.
    • Based on its cooldown, it's likely the TestBat was an unfinished placeholder for Ichiban.
