Template:Gootraxian Fed is a gray wolf Gootraxian that wears a dark grey fedora as an accessory. It lacks any body markings other than the jagged, light grey fur patterns on their wrists and feet, which share the same color as Fed's underbelly, neck fur and inner ears. Fed's eyes are a bright magenta pink color.

VIP Feds appear the same, except they are donned with a dark grey trench coat and armed with a Tommy Gun.

Fed is considered to be a counterpart of Shade due to their many similarities.

Abilities

Fedora Drop (Death)

When a Fed is killed, the fedora from their head will drop to the ground, waiting to acquire a new host to transform. However, humans wearing a Hazmat Suit cannot pick up the fedora, saving them from the infection.

Fedora Trick

If they have a fedora, they can do a fedora trick, in which they spin their hat. The ability is purely cosmetic and is unavailable if the Fed doesn't have a fedora.

Tommy Gun

The Tommy Gun is a melee weapon exclusive to VIP Fed. It is unable to be fired, making it only useful for attacking people by hitting them with the gun itself.

Acquirement

Fed can be obtained by picking up a dark grey fedora found around the map. Though they can also be obtained via being infected by another Fed Gootraxian, although you won't be able to wear the fedora.

VIP Feds have the exact same obtainment method, just with a 1/30 (3.3%) chance of obtaining it instead of a regular Fed. This chance becomes more likely depending on your Kill Streak, maxing out at a 1/2 chance at 60 kills.

When you wear the fedora, the following text will pop up, along with a third line appearing exclusively to VIP variants:

• "A fedora has suddenly been placed on top of you..."
• "Very classy.."
• "A trench coat has been placed on you suddenly."

Tips

Please note that most things listed in this section are not objective, and are not the "Correct" way to use them. This section is used to give advice to players who want to learn how to use their tools more efficiently.

• Despite being a Gootraxian exclusive weapon, the Tommy Gun can cancel your teammate's grab attack, so it isn't recommended to use it on a grabbed human

Bestiary Entry

This gootrax has a more wolf like appearance, bearing pink eyes, and donning a fedora on its head, made of a semifluid rubber-like material. This gootrax was actually created purely on accident, after security forgot to remove all accessories from a subject, and a developing gootrax latched onto a hat. It was among the first to escape containment, causing a small outbreak after a coworker attempted to do a horrible Jackson impression after tipping a fedora on their head. Feds are usually calm and collected, but see humans as animals, and nothing more. They look down upon humans, but aren't necessarily annoyed around them either; more-so taking to teasing and mocking humans at any point they can, commonly seen scoffing at their presence. For further reference, please don't wear hats indoors.

Trivia

• When a Gootraxian uses "Attack" on a survivor with a fedora equipped, it will be knocked off the survivor's head. The text "The fedora was knocked off your head!" appears for the survivor when this happens.
• The Fed's faces were changed on a V3.1 update due to looking "too questionable."
• Fed and Hazzy are currently the only Gootraxians to wield a usable weapon.
• It is possible to get a VIP Fed from dropped fedoras, even if its from another VIP. They all remain at the same odds.
• When becoming a VIP Fed, the same sound as a human putting on a lab coat/hazmat suit will play, presumably from putting on the trench coat.
• If you use the "Overseer" machete skin and kill a Fed that has a fedora equipped, the fedora will turn invisible, making it act like an invisible "landmine."
  • This also happens with the "Batsaber" and the "Overseen" bat skins.
    • This applies to other Gootraxians that also drop a transmogrifying item after death.
• Currently, it's one of the few Gootraxians to have a costume, being the Vet Fed.
• Fed has an unique idle animation, showing it holding its fedora.
• Fed's VIP variant was removed in the V3.1R update, along with every other VIP variant.
  • They have since been reintroduced in the V3.3 update with revamped designs.

Bugs

• There was a minor bug in which Fed's death face did not show upon dying, instead showing its low HP face.
  • This bug also occurred with Night Shade, Jammer, and Shade.
