The Knife is a mix of a melee and ranged weapon in Kaiju Paradise.
Properties
| File:Abblealert.png | "it smoll.. but SHARP!! too!!" |
The Knife can be stolen by Slime Pups unless the user is wearing a hazmat suit. The knife has the smallest weapon hitbox in the game. As you are swinging with the knife, it may change its swinging direction randomly, varying from right to left swings. At the end of the swing, the knife is always flipped by the user after they use it.
By holding down after the attack animation, you can initiate a knife throw, allowing you to throw the knife and deal additional damage if the hit is headshot, with multiplier of 1.25. Additionally, if the knife is thrown at a button of a door or gate, it will disable the button until the knife falls out, locking the door either shut or open. If the knife is thrown at any crystal in the cavern, the crystal will pulse before exploding, which ragdolls, flings and damages all players on or near the crystal.
Upon breaking, text at the bottom of the screen will say: "The knife broke." If, however, the player consumes the knife's durability by throwing it, it will instead say "You ran out of knives."
The Knife does not incur the Omen Bar, incur Stun or cancel out a Gootraxian's grab.
As of V3.1, the Knife currently has 47 skins.
Obtainment
The Knife is a weapon that cannot be bought at Abble's Shop, and instead can only be found in various knife spawning locations, such as the Cafeteria, Gas Room, or the connecting Security Closet connected to the Testing Room, respawning every 80 seconds (1 minute and 20 seconds). |-|Golden=
The Golden Knife is another goldified weapon in Kaiju Paradise. It takes the same appearance as the knife, but golden with a soft glow and sparkles.
Properties
Just like the regular knife, the Golden Knife can be tossed, taking 3.5 of its durability, which equals a maximum of 5 tosses. Headshots multiply the toss damage value by 1.25. Unlike its regular counterpart, the Golden Knife does cancel out a Gootraxian's grab.
Upon breaking, text at the bottom of the screen will say: "The knife broke."
Obtainment
The Golden Knife can be obtained by killing a Golden Slime variant or obtained by the randomly dropped gold weapon. </tabber>
Tips
Please note that most things listed in this section are not objective, and are not the "Correct" way to use them. This section is used to give advice to players who want to learn how to use their tools more efficiently.
- It is recommended that you only use the Knife to attack players who are stunned, or otherwise slowed, as the low cooldown of the knife permits you to get a hit or two in.
- It is also very effective at getting players off of crystals in the Caves, as it is one of the few ranged Survivor Weapons in the game, and on-contact, causes the crystal to explode after a short delay.
- Additionally, its relative availability, supplemented by its new spawns around the map, make it a must have to have in your inventory.
- The Knife can be used to effectively disable any button-activated doorway in the game for a few seconds, meaning that if you're good at aiming while in a chase, it can be an effective strategy to throw your Knife at buttons to prevent other players from activating them.
- Alternatively, you could just directly throw it at them to finish them off.
- Or at a nearby crystal, if you can time it right.
- Alternatively, you could just directly throw it at them to finish them off.
- Despite its upsides, the Knife is relegated to a utility role, as its underwhelming damage is only further hindered by its abysmal range. The knife is valuable because of its utility, not because it's a good weapon.
Trivia
- The Knife was originally purchasable in Abble's Store. It was later removed from the store due to the fear of people abusing it to have a constant knife-throwing supply.
