Katana

The Katana is a weapon featured in Kaiju Paradise. It has the appearance of a samurai's sword with a golden colored grip.

Properties

The Katana is versatile weapon, offering both superb offensive capability and great utility. When attacking with the Katana, the player will perform a three part combo, each slash dashing the player forwards with the last attack ending the combo with a spin-slash and entering its cooldown period, which also slows the player for its duration. The first two slashes of the combo, due to their shortened cooldown, allows for a quick switch to other weapons. Furthermore, the dash helps finish off Gootraxians and facilitates a hasty retreat if needed.

Unlike other weapons, the Katana does not incur the Omen Bar nor Stun.

Upon breaking, text at the bottom of the screen will say: "The katana snapped in half."

As of v.3.1, the Katana currently has 5 skins.

Obtainment

Like the Sledgehammer, the Katana cannot be bought from Abble's Shop and can be found around the map instead.

Trivia

• The Katana is one of a few weapons that received a remodel.
  • Some skins, such as Cosmic Dust and Toxic Waste, and even its goldified counterpart still retains its original model.
