Events

Events are limited, timed events that occur every 40-60 minutes in-game. There are exclusive Items, Raytraxians and met conditions for certain abilities that aren't able to be used in what is considered the more "normal" gameplay.

As of now, there are currently 3 known Events, with only 2 that are actively in the game.

Power Outage

The Power Outage is where the power is low and most lights and electronics go down, restored by only the backup generator power. The atmosphere of the surroundings will turn into different shades of red, which includes the crystals and spikes, with the entire map becoming darker than usual. Certain Raytraxians will also glow and access new abilities during this event.

The human safe zone barrier during this event will go down, leaving the survivors vulnerable to any Raytraxian attacks on the Spawn Room until the power is back on.

You can create a Power Outage in Private Servers if you've survived the event in a public server before by doing the command :poweroutage, po (number seconds)

When a Power Outage occurs, the following messages will be shown at the bottom of your screen:

• "Sudden disturbance in Main Facility power grid detected."
• "Successfully initiated Emergency Power grid."
• "Please stand by..."

"Rise Of The Carneline" by Fishcracks will play in the background. This event will last 750 seconds (12 minutes 30 seconds) before the power turns back on again.

Blackout

During a Blackout, the power is completely off and all lights & electronics go down with no backup power. Doors and gates will always be stuck open, with the buttons not working. The surroundings around will now be covered in a thick, black fog. The crystals, spikes and puddles will glow white while the mini sharks will emit blue light. Certain Raytraxians will also glow and access new abilities during this event.

The human safe zone barrier during this event will also shut down, leaving the survivors vulnerable to any Raytraxian attacks on the Spawn Room until the power is back on.

The player UI is disabled by force, disallowing players the ability to see the nametag, health bar and omen bar of other players. Humans will be able to access the Fireaxe freely during this event.

You can create a Blackout in Private Servers if you've survived the event in a public server before by doing the command :blackout, bo (number seconds)

When a Blackout occurs, the following messages will be shown at the bottom of your screen:

• "Unable to initiate Emergency Power grid."
• "Please stand by..."

A little more than 6 minutes into the Blackout (or a few seconds after the beat drop of the second loop of the music), in public servers, there is a 60% chance for Nightcrawler goggles to spawn within the map per event. If they spawn, the following message will appear:

"[SERVER]: Something mysterious has appeared somewhere on the map.."

As of the V3.1 Hallows Eve Event, these are messages that occasionally appear during a Blackout:

• "..."
• "You saw something out the corner of your eye."
• "You see something in the distance."
• "What was that?"
• "Something is coming."

Before the update, these were the messages that appeared instead:

• "Something is coming.."
• "You saw something from the distance..."
• "You felt as if something is watching you from afar..."
• "Do you feel safe?.."

"Lights Out" by Fishcracks will play in the background. This event will last 750 seconds (12 minutes 30 seconds) before the power turns back on again.

Once the goggles spawn, the Blackout will extend by 50 seconds. When someone successfully turns into a Nightcrawler, it will extend by an additional 550 seconds (9 minutes 10 seconds), making it last for 1300 seconds (21 minutes 40 seconds) in total rather than the standard 750.

When a Blackout ends, all of the players' screen will become blurred for a short time, before returning to normal afterwards.

Purification

This event is disabled due to major bugs and is being reworked. The following information comes from its first release and is likely outdated. Everything is subject to change upon release.

The Purification is where a cleaning protocol will be initiated and everyone must get to a bunker to survive. When this happens, the emergency lights will turn on and the color of the crystals, spikes, puddles will change into a yellow-orange. There are no new exclusive Raytraxians in this event.

There will be an announcement that says the following:

"Attention please, a cleaning protocol has been initiated. Please locate your employee card and make your way to the nearest bunker. Any live specimen that is not in the bunker when purification starts will not survive. Purification starts in 8 minutes."

After this, there will be 2 phases that will happen on the event, the Bunker Countdown and Purification Countdown.

Bunker Countdown

Both humans and Raytraxians will need to find a limited keycard that spawns randomly around the map in order to get to the bunker. Whoever dies or gets infected while holding the keycard will drop it, letting others obtain that keycard. This lasts for 240 seconds (4 minutes) and players must wait for the emergency bay door to open.

Purification Countdown

The emergency bay opens and players can finally enter it. In order to get into the bunker, they must have a keycard to enter by inserting it into the door input. In the bunker, there will be a Raytraxian and human safezone where they can stay. This also lasts for 240 seconds (4 minutes).

After this, a deadly gas will be released into the area and the atmosphere will turn into a shade of yellow. Players outside the bunker will have the following text that says:

• "Something is wrong with the air.."
• "It's getting harder to breath.."
• "You can't move your body at all..."

After this text, players will be ragdolled and their screen slowly turns and blurs into darkness. Following that, players who survived will be teleported outside the emergency bay while those who don't will spawn back in the safe zone. Those who survive the event will get a purification crate and the badge Ultima Purgare.

The event has a 10% chance of happening every 1 hour and "Not Enough Time" will play in the background during the event. </tabber>

Trivia

• During the Power Outage event, the crystals will pulse to the drum set of music. The larger crystals will pulse on the kick drum while the smaller crystals will pulse on the snare.
  • However, with the loop of the song, the smaller crystals would pulse to the kick drum while the larger ones to the snare.
  • This also occurs during Blackouts, where only the large crystals will pulse.
  • This also occurs during Purification, akin to Blackout.
  • The Power Outages originally played "Hadopelagic Pressure" from Terraria Calamity.
• The concept for the Purification event, the audio, and of course music, can be attributed to Fishcracks.
  • According to them, the event was planned to re-release publicly in V3.2.
• In the Experimental Build, there is a 1/50 chance that the message for Nightcrawler goggles spawning will be replaced with: "[SERVER]: It appears an item of devious quality has suddenly been summoned in an area of this location..."
• During certain holiday events, the Power Outage and Blackout may appear differently.
  • During the 2022 April Fools event, the Power Outage event changed to appear purple, covering the Facility in a purple fog. Blackout was inverted to be completely shadowed in white fog and is commonly referred to by the community as the "Whiteout" event.
  • During the V3.1 Hallows Eve Event, Blackout became covered in a heavy, blood red fog and echoed any sound created by a player. This event is commonly referred to as the "Bloodmoon" event by the community.
  • During the 2024 Hallows Eve Event, Power Outages were replaced by the Bluelight event, where everything on the map became inverted, and Blackouts were replaced by the Manor Silence event, which put a monochrome filter on the player's screen.
• Melon Shork and Dagoda are currently the only Event Exclusive Raytraxians able to be obtained in both Power Outages and Blackouts.
• Donning the Goggles but not transforming into the Nightcrawler (e.g. by leaving or resetting) will not further extend the Blackout.
• Previously during a Blackout, even though the soap bottle's texture is blue, as it would be for Glubby, upon interacting and using the soap, the player will still be transformed into Dagoda. (Even donning the orange bubbles during infection time, usually indicating Glubby.) However, this has been patched.
• In Blackouts, it is possible for Saturn bandanas to spawn, but with a 40% chance. If Nightcrawler goggles spawn, then bandanas don't spawn, and vice versa.
