The Knife is melee weapon with ranged capabilities in Kaiju Paradise It has the appearance of a standard bushcraft knife with a golden bolster and black colored handle. Its variant, Caesar and Ted, has a soft glow and sparkles effect.
Properties
The Knife has the smallest hitbox of any weapon in-game (with the exclusion of certain Raytraxian-related abilities, such as the Tommy Gun). Rather than have a constant swinging pattern, the knife will randomly swing from the left or right side of the player, though this doesn't affect the knife's overall performance by much. Any time after the knife is swung, it has a chance to be flipped by its wielder.
By holding M1 on your mouse, a knife throw will be initiated after the initial regular swing, allowing the knife to be thrown upon releasing the hold, at the cost of 3.5 durability. Hitting an opponent with the thrown knife will deal the same damage as a regular swing (23 HP), however a headshot will increase the base damage by 1.25x, bringing the total damage to 28 HP. Additionally, if the knife is thrown at a button of a door or gate, it will disable the button until the knife despawns, preventing the door from being interacted with and therefore locking it open or closed. Furthermore, throwing a knife at a crystal in the Crystal Cave will cause the crystal to emit a shockwave capable of damaging, ragdolling, and flinging all nearby players, including the thrower.
The knife has two different breaking messages depending on how the knife was broken. If it was broken via a melee attack, the message "The knife broke." will appear, and if broken via throwing the knife, it will instead prompt the message "You ran out of knives.".
Unlike most other weapons, the Knife does not incur the Omen Bar, incur Stun, nor cancel out a Raytraxian's grab.
Like the regular knife, the Golden Knife can be thrown at the cost of 3.5 durability, allowing the knife to be thrown a maximum of 10 times before breaking. Headshots deal 1.25x damage as well. Unlike its regular counterpart, however, the Golden Knife does have the ability to cancel out a Raytraxian's grab.
Upon breaking, text at the bottom of the screen will say: "Casesar and Ted Broke."

Tips
Please note that most things listed in this section are not objective, and are not the "Correct" way to use them. This section is used to give advice to players who want to learn how to use their tools more efficiently.
- After receiving its much needed buff, the knife is quite capable of mincing enemies with ease. Capable of outputting high DPS, the knife is perfect for finishing off enemies with a slash or throw or getting in a quick hit to keep up the pressure.
- It is also very effective at getting players off of crystals in the Caves, as it is one of the few ranged Survivor Weapons in the game, and on-contact, causes the crystal to explode after a short delay.
- Additionally, its relative availability, supplemented by its spawns around the map, make it a must-have to have in your inventory.
- The Knife can be used to effectively disable any button-activated doorway in the game for a few seconds, meaning that if you're good at aiming while in a chase, it can be an effective strategy to throw your Knife at buttons to prevent other players from activating them.
- Alternatively, you could just directly throw it at them to finish them off.
- Or at a nearby crystal, if you can time it right.
- Alternatively, you could just directly throw it at them to finish them off.
- Despite its lack of stun, the knife is a great weapon in both offense and utility, making it a recommended weapon to carry.
Trivia
- The Knife was originally purchasable in Abble's Shop. It was later removed from the store due to the fear of people abusing it to have a constant knife-throwing supply.
- Unlike its regular counterpart, the golden knife's cooldown and range are not updated to its new statistics.
- You can throw a knife at a button door to disable or enable it.
