Kaiju
Template:Gootraxian Kaijus are the titular Gootraxians in Kaiju Paradise.
They appear to be large, dark-blue reptilian humanoids with a lighter blue underbelly and glowing, blue crystal spines running along their backs and tail. They have very blue colored eyes with light blue irises, a bright light blue tongue and dark blue claws on their lighter blue hands and feet.
Abilities
Increased Health (Passive)
Kaijus have much more health compared to other Gootraxians, with a total of 125 HP.
Larger Size (Passive)
Kaijus are slightly larger in size compared to other Gootraxians, being 1.1x larger.
Rare Item Drops
Upon death, they have a 1/8 (12.5%) chance to drop a Kaiju Basher. They also have a chance to drop a Strange Crystal, but this chance varies depending on how high the Kaiju's infect streak was before dying, the higher the streak, the higher the chance. A Strange Crystal will only have the potential to drop after 3 infects, and is guaranteed to drop at 20 infects or more.
The chance for the Strange Crystal works as so:
<math>15 + [(Streak - 3) * 5] = Random</math>
<math>Random</math> = Generated number from 0 - 100, effectively operates the percentage chance.
<math>Streak</math> = Player's current infection streak. It must be 3 or higher to have any chance to drop a strange crystal.

Ion Beam
Kaiju can fire up an Ion Beam that comes from their mouth, dealing with incredible damage to targets that are directly exposed to it, dealing around 33 damage per second. The Ion Beam has a 5 second charge-up before the ion beam starts blasting for 15 seconds. Kaiju is immune to damage but cannot move and has a slow turn-speed during the use of the ability.
Targets that are hit with the Ion Beam will be inflicted with a 5 second burn damage, dealing 2 damage per second.
Kaiju's charge-up can be interrupted and stopped by any weapon that inflicts stun, though it'll only interrupt the ability if Kaiju's omen bar is active.
When Kaiju performs the Ion Beam, a muffled laser beam sound will emit from their character.
| Stat | Value |

| Raw Damage | 9 Damage |
| Damage Per Second | 33 DPS |
| Tool Cooldown | 25 Seconds |

Acquirement
Kaiju can be obtained via infection through the blue crystals in the Crystal Caves, standing in the Caves for too long or being infected by another Kaiju.
Mutation
If standing in the lower part of the Crystal Caves for too long as a human, they will start losing HP and crystals will start to grow on their body near death which remain after turning into a Kaiju or any other Gootraxian. The crystals are in random places of the body each time.
Turning into a Gootraxian will not remove any crystal mutations, meaning crystal mutations are permanent until the user dies or leaves the game.

|
A lumbering behemoth, known for their size and crystalline shimmer. These crystals vary in size and placement, but are mostly seen along the back and down the tail of the creature. Kaiju's[sic] are able to harness the electricity found in these crystals and use their internal gas to ignite a bight blue flame! Setting all ablaze that stand in their iconic beams[sic] wake... while the beam is powerful, it is costly to the kaiju's health, draining their energy if used for a prolonged amount of time. Kaijus tend to be passive aggresive, and are very territorial. If provoked, these tanky beasts will not hesitate to lash out, but... if you keep your distance, they will leave you be... most of the time. Crystal Chasm, also known as "Kaiju Cove", is their main territory. They are often found lurking about the Chasm. These crystals found within the cove are past kaijus.. fallen due to the sheer size of their crystals. They have continued to build and grow since. While the cave is lacking in resources.. we believe kaijus themselves are able to "grow" these crystals. This cove is known to have its own.. "smog".. it is highly dangerous, avoid at all costs. Even Gootrax species aren't immune to its potent radiation poisoning. |

Trivia
- Kaiju were one of the first Gootraxians available since Kaiju Paradise's first public release.
- The concept art for Kaiju was posted in the game's official Discord server on February 22 2021. See the "Gallery" section for the concept art.
- They are also one of four Gootraxians to have a different size value, the others being Slime Pup (being 0.8), Slime Dragon (being 0.85) and Witchbrew (being 0.85).
- Due to Kaiju's size, Kaiju is unable to take advantage of floor level environmental hazards. However, this also means it's possible for Kaiju to instantly infect or deal unreduced damage on hazards to players who escape their grab.
- Currently, it's one of few Gootraxians to have costumes, these being the Classic Kaiju and the Flaming Kaiju.
- The Flaming Kaiju was originally planned to be a separate gootraxian before being repurposed into a costume for the Kaiju.
- Kaiju is one of the only Gootraxians to outright kill other Gootraxians.
- The only other Gootraxian that could also kill fellow Gootraxians are Slime Pups.
- Kaiju's Ion Beam can damage other vending machines, much like Hazzy's weapons.
- When Kaiju performs the Ion Beam ability, an unique face can be seen (See Gallery, Expressions for the face images), which is similar to the Grab face, but with the eyes and mouth fully open and the pupils completely slit.
- This can be also seen in the Bestiary icon when hovered.
- However, on the 2024 April Fools Event, the unique face was changed into an image of "Shoop Da Whoop" from the meme of the same name.
- This can be also seen in the Bestiary icon when hovered.
- This is one of the Gootraxians to have an unique idle animation, with the other being Fed, Shade and Nightshade, and Jammer
- Due to this, when standing still while facing forward, it's head is seen slightly looking to the right.
- Oddly, when closely looking at the animation, it seems to have a very low amount of keyframes.
- Due to this, when standing still while facing forward, it's head is seen slightly looking to the right.
- When Kaiju uses the Ion Beam ability, there are 2 animations, one with the arms forward, and another with the arms back.
- Oddly, the other animations used when the ability finishes are swapped together.
- A secondary version of Kaiju's Christmas game icon exists, where Kaiju does not have a Christmas hat but instead has bubbles and text saying "KP" in the background. This icon was seen before and after the V3.1 Anniversary Event before the June 2023 Update. See Gallery, Miscellaneous for the image.
- Oddly, this icon, including the christmas one and the V3.1 Party Bash one, use the Kaiju's V3.1R design.
- Prior to V3.1, the Kaiju's fur around its head was a recolor of the Beautiful Hair for Beautiful People, an hair accesory made by the official Roblox account.
Bugs
- There was a bug in which the character model for the Kaiju would lose it's head details and go "bald" after resizing.
- Currently, there's a bug where, if you have a Catte bucket or a Fed fedora on your head, turn into a Kaiju, and then wait until the bucket seems to be ejected out from your head, you will then have delayed controls and get stuck inside said transmogrifying item until it despawns. This bug could cause the Kaiju be easier to kill since they can no longer move while stopping.
- Kaiju's Bestiary Entry currently cuts off after "... Even Gootrax" due to the large amount of text in its entry.
