"The shark reacted strangely to the watermelon you carried.."

Template:Gootraxian Watermelon Shorks (coded as Blaxor in-game) are green shark Gootraxians with light-green skin with dark-green and pink stripes along their arms, fins and legs, accompanied by two dark red horns. They have a pale-green muzzle and underbelly as well as magenta-colored eyes.

During a Blackout or Power Outage, their eyes glow and their horns produce a small pink flame that hovers above their heads.

Abilities

Increased Health (Passive)

Watermelon Shorks have slightly more HP than other Gootraxians, sitting at 110 HP.

Rage Bar (No Effect Currently)

NOTE: As of a recent bug fix update, the rage bar has been temporarily removed.

If another player eats a watermelon slice in the direct vicinity of a Watermelon Shork, a red bar (known as the "rage bar") will fill in short increments each time a watermelon is eaten until it is completely full. However, this bar currently does not provide any additional effect when this occurs.

Acquirement

Players can obtain Watermelon Shork by colliding with a Kawaii/Lantern Shork fin during a Power Outage or Blackout whilst holding a watermelon slice or via infection by another Watermelon Shork Gootraxian.

After a player has walked into a fin and already transformed with a watermelon slice, the Shork fin will become and remain green. Anyone else who walks into the fin will become a Watermelon Shork, regardless of if they have a watermelon slice.

After 30 seconds, if no player has touched the green Shork fin, it will revert back to a regular gray Shork fin.

Bestiary Entry

This mutation of the Shorks occurred from an odd reaction to the rind and interior of a watermelon, fully developing properly only in dimly lit areas. These gootrax have evolved their own light source, having an odd flame between their horns to see better in the dark. This flame does not hurt when touched, and gives off a sweet melon like smell.

Trivia

  • Upon transformation, there is a 1/10 (10%) chance of having a yellow sticky note appear taped to your forehead that reads "rad".
  • The Watermelon Shork's design is based on the Head Developer's avatar. Despite this, he claims it is not his fursona.
  • There is an unused, alternative variant of it that uses different faces and clothes, which were made by YukaChaan.
    • It is confirmed to be the TFE Version of the Watermelon Shork, and was not intended to be in KP's code.
  • Before the removal of the ??? Badge, killing a Watermelon Shork had a 1/12 (8.34%) chance to drop a whole watermelon. Upon picking up the whole watermelon, the player is granted the ??? Badge.
  • When clicking on Watermelon Shork's bestiary page, its name will briefly appear as 'Blaxor' before the text is quickly erased and replaced with its normal name.
  • Due to its in-game code name, in VIP servers, using the command :tf [player name] blaxor will turn the player into a Watermelon Shork.
    • Because of this, using :tf [player name] watermelonshork will NOT work.
  • Watermelon Shork, Dagoda, and Dark Protogen are currently the only Event Exclusive Gootraxians able to be obtained in both Power Outage and Blackout.
