"Your eyes feel pretty weird...”

Template:Gootraxian Night Shade is a gray wolf Gootraxian that wears purple shutter shades. They are the Blackout variant of Shade.

Like Jammer, they are similar in appearance to Shade and Fed, but they have purple markings instead of green stripes that glow purple when a Blackout is active. Their markings are also thicker and shorter length-wise in comparison to Shade.

Also like Jammers, they have a VIP variant, which look like regular Night Shades, but have a rainbow glow in Blackouts. During Power Outages, they instead glow a light coral color, regardless of their variant.

Abilities

Increased Health (Passive)

Night Shade has an increased health of 110 HP.

Shutter Shade Drop (Death)

Like its counterparts, Night Shades drop their shutter shades upon death, which removes the glowing effect until a survivor walks on it. This can surprise any unsuspecting players who happen to walk on it and become infected. However, humans wearing a hazmat suit cannot pick up the shutter shades, saving them from the infection.

Wear & Stare

They can remove and pull down their summer shades using the Wear tool. They also have the Stare tool to stare patronizingly at any player, with each movement being accompanied by a "boom" sound. Both of them are purely cosmetic.

Boombox (VIP Only)

Exclusive to VIP Night Shades, they have a boombox that can play music and also serves as a cosmetic only.

Acquirement

Night Shade can be acquired by walking over or obtaining purple shutter shades during Blackouts, or infection by another Night Shade Gootraxian, although you won't have the shutter shades. It takes about 20 seconds to be infected after putting on the shutter shades.

VIP Night Shades can be obtained with a 1/30 (3.3%) chance of becoming one. Alternatively, you can use the command :tf me Nightshade;VIP=true in private servers.

When wearing the shutter shades, the following text will pop up:

  • "Your eyes feel pretty weird..."
  • "Goofy.."
