"Your eyes feel pretty weird... Goofy..”

Template:Gootraxian Night Shade is a gray wolf Gootraxian that wears purple summer shades. They are the Blackout variant of Shade.

Like Jammer, they are similar in appearance to Shade and Fed, but they have purple markings instead of green stripes that glow purple when a Blackout is active. Their markings are also thicker and shorter length-wise in comparison to Shade.

Also like Jammers, they have a VIP variant, which look like regular Night Shades, but have a rainbow glow in Blackouts.

Abilities

Like its counterparts, Night Shades drop their summer shades upon death, which removes the glowing effect until a survivor walks on it. This can surprise any unsuspecting players who happen to walk on it and become infected.

They can remove and pull down their summer shades using the Wear tool, which are for cosmetic purposes only.

They also have the Stare tool to stare patronizingly at any player, with each movement being accompanied by a "boom" sound. This is purely cosmetic.

VIP Night Shades have a boombox that can play music and also serves as a cosmetic only.

Acquirement

Night Shade can be acquired by walking over or obtaining purple shades during Blackouts, or infection by another Night Shade Gootraxian, although you won't have the summer shades.

VIP Night Shades can be obtained with a 1/30 chance of becoming one. Alternatively, you can use the command :tf me Nightshade;VIP=true in private servers.

Trivia

  • Some of Night Shade's faces were modified on V3.1.<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/510886407770734645/992725895196463225/unknown.png Update log mentioning Night Shade's (including Shade and Fed's) faces, December 15 2021.</ref>
  • There is a minor bug in which Night Shade's death face does not show upon dying, and is instead its low HP face.
    • It apparently does not occur on player-infected Night Shades and the first time a player resets on a accessory transfurred one.
  • The music that plays on VIP Night Shade's boombox is Aging, composed by Fishcracks.
  • VIP Night Shades will still have the exact same 1/30 chance of obtaining it, whether it is a dropped pair of summer shades or outside of a Blackout doesn't matter
  • The Stare tool is a reference to The Rock's Eyebrow Raise (LOUD WARNING) meme.
    • There is a bug that quickly lessens the stare cooldown by equipping grab then equipping stare once more.
  • Like the VIP Jammer animation bug, players can do /e shadejamming to play the animation a VIP Night Shade does when they use Boombox.
  • It takes about 20 seconds to be infected after putting on the summer shades.
