"Your ears feel comfy.."

Template:Gootraxian Jammer is a wolf Gootraxians. It is the Blackout variant of Fed.

It has a similar appearance to Fed, Shade and Jammer, having grey fur with a light grey neck fluff, underbelly, paws, and ear tufts. There are circular light blue markings along its arms and legs, with similar light blue eyes. It is often seen wearing headphones. In their VIP variant, its eyes, markings and headphones instead have an orange/golden coloration.

Abilities

Increased Health (Passive)

Jammer has slightly increased health from other Gootraxians, at 110 HP.

Headphone Drop (Death)

When killed, the headphones from the Jammer will drop to the ground, waiting to acquire a new host to step on them. However, humans wearing a hazmat suit cannot pick up the headphones, saving them from being infected.

Diversion

Upon being infected, Jammer with be given Diversion, when used, would do an animation where they move their arm up and down in the air, and will play JAMS.

Acquirement

Jammers can be obtained by picking up the headphones that replace fedoras during Blackouts or by getting infected by another Jammer Gootraxian, though you won't get the headphones for the latter. It takes about 27 seconds to be infected after putting on the Jammer's headphones.

There is a 1/30 (3.3%) chance of becoming its VIP variant. This chance becomes more likely depending on your Kill Streak, maxing out at a 1/2 chance at 60 kills.

When wearing the headphones, the following text will pop up:

  • "Your ears feel comfy.."

Trivia

  • When a Gootraxian knocks the headphones off your head, the text "The headphones were knocked off your head!" would pop up.
  • Jammer will play music composed by Fishcracks when it uses its Diversion tool.
    • Normal Jammer plays "JAMS".
    • Its VIP variant plays "JAMS VIP", a remix of JAMS.
      • This does not seem to be the case outside of a Blackout, however.
  • While performing certain Emotes & Emojis, Jammers will play a muffled version of a pre-existing song for that emote:
    • Doing the Smug emote plays "Transit" by Fishcracks.
    • Doing the California emote plays an 8-bit remix of the song "California Gurls" by Fishcracks.
      • This feature appears to be disabled or removed as of V3.3.
  • Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to get a VIP Jammer from dropped headphones, even if its from another VIP, and outside of Blackouts. It remains at the same chance of 1/30.
  • If the player constantly hovers on and off of Jammer's Bestiary icon, the icon will play the intro of JAMS.
  • If you use the Overseer Machete skin and kill a Jammer that has its headphones, it will turn invisible, making it act as an invisible "landmine".
    • This also happens with the "Batsaber" and "Overseen" bat skins.
    • This applies to other Gootraxians that also drop a transmogrifying item after death.
  • Oddly, this is one of the Gootraxians to lack a Bestiary entry.
  • Jammer is one of the few Gootraxians to have a unique idle animation, showing it holding its headphones with the left hand.
    • Prior to V3.1R, the torso was shown facing forward, but as of V3.1R, the animation was slightly modified to have its torso facing right.

Bugs

  • There was a minor bug in which Jammer's death face did not show upon dying, instead showing its low HP face.
  • Similar to the Slime Pup's /e pupsitdown bug, in the beginning of the V3.1 Late Winter update, players were able to do /e vipjamming to play the animation that a VIP Jammer does when they use Diversion.
    • This "bug" still works if you are a Jammer with headphones, no matter what type you are.
