Nightcrawler

Nightcrawler is a Blackout-exclusive Gootraxian in Kaiju Paradise.

It is reptilian like, being mostly grey colored with black leaf-like or scar-like patterns on its ears and limbs. It has unique purple patterns on the front of its torso and the bottom of its tail. It has a 3-lens night vision goggles, and adorned with a waist belt of satchels and a blowtorch(?) along with a pair of gloves.

Abilities

Unlike any other Gootraxian seen in the game, it has two unique moves: Pummel and Pursue.

Pummel works similar to a katana, it is a 'combo-like' type of ability, allowing Nightcrawlers to attack Humans 3 times, with the last attack having a slightly long cooldown. In Blackouts, it is able to dash the Nightcrawler foward a little.

Pursue causes the player to slam their fists onto the ground, blowing away nearby Humans a few studs away. Then, the Nightcrawler starts running where the camera is facing at. You cannot control its movements in this state, and can only move your camera around to guide it. If it collides against a Human, it will damage them a little, but then if collided again, it grabs the Human and flings them across the map with huge knockback power and dealing nearly below half of the Human's health.

It has a passive, where at low health, it will stomp on the ground and cause nearby players to blow away a few studs. It deals little damage.

Goggled Nightcrawlers have a huge health pool of 800 HP.

Goggle-less Nightcrawlers have only 100 HP and the attack and grab like other Gootraxians, but they will still have the stomping passive.

Acquirement

Nightcrawler can be obtained by finding a pair of goggles around the map.

The goggles can only spawn during Blackouts, next to or nearby weapon and item spawns with a 60% chance in public servers and guaranteed in private servers. They do not spawn nearby bat spawns due to them being fixed rather than randomised.

You can also obtained it by being infected by another Nightcrawler Gootraxian, however you will not have its unique pummel and pursue abilities, and you will have the standard 100 HP.

Trivia

• It is the first Gootraxian in the game to have abilities that do not have the standard attack and grab like others.
  • However, goggle-less ones will have the standard abilities.
• Goggled Nightcrawlers have the highest health pool of all Gootraxians that are not a Diamond Slime variant, at 800 HP.
• Nightcrawler is the only Gootraxian so far to have appeared in the game's thumbnail, but was still unreleased for the time it appeared.
• From its general appearance and abilities, it is likely that Nightcrawler was inspired by the Cloaker from the Payday franchise.
