Kaiju

From Kaiju Paradise Official Wiki

Template:GootraxTab Template:Gootraxian Kaijus are the titular Gootraxians in Kaiju Paradise.

They appear to be large, dark-blue reptilian humanoids with a lighter blue underbelly and glowing, blue crystal spines running along their backs and tail. They have very blue colored eyes with light blue irises, a bright light blue tongue and dark blue claws on their lighter blue hands and feet.

Abilities

Increased Health (Passive)

Kaijus have much more health compared to other Gootraxians, with a total of 125 HP.

Larger Size (Passive)

Kaijus are slightly larger in size compared to other Gootraxians, being 1.1x larger.

Rare Item Drops

Upon death, they have a 1/8 (12.5%) chance to drop a Kaiju Basher. They also have a chance to drop a Strange Crystal, but this chance varies depending on how high the Kaiju's infect streak was before dying, the higher the streak, the higher the chance. A Strange Crystal will only have the potential to drop after 1 infect and is guaranteed to drop at around 15 infects.

Ion Beam

Kaiju can fire up an Ion Beam that comes from their mouth, dealing with incredible damage to targets that are directly exposed to it, dealing around 33 damage per second. The Ion Beam has a 2.5 second charge-up before the ion beam starts blasting for 11 seconds. Kaiju is immune to damage but has a slowed movement speed during the use of the ability.

Targets that are hit with the Ion Beam will be inflicted with a 5 second burn damage, dealing 2 damage per second.

Kaiju's charge-up can be interrupted and stopped by any weapon that inflicts stun, though it'll only interrupt the ability if Kaiju's omen bar is active.

When Kaiju performs the Ion Beam, a muffled laser beam sound will emit from their character.

Ion Beam Statistics
Stat Value
Raw Damage 9 Damage
Damage Per Second 33 DPS
Tool Cooldown 11 Seconds
Ability Cooldown 60 Seconds
Effects Burn, Invincibility, Slowed Movement

Acquirement

Kaiju can be obtained via infection through the blue crystals in the Crystal Caves, standing in the Caves for too long or being infected by another Kaiju.

Mutation

If standing in the lower part of the Crystal Caves for too long as a human, they will start losing HP and crystals will start to grow on their body near death which remain after turning into a Kaiju or any other Gootraxian. The crystals are in random places of the body each time.

Turning into a Gootraxian will not remove any crystal mutations, meaning crystal mutations are permanent until the user dies or leaves the game.

Bestiary Entry

Current

A lumbering behemoth, known for their size and crystalline shimmer. These crystals vary in size and placement, but are mostly seen along the back and down the tail of the creature. Kaiju's are able to harness the electricity found in these crystals and use their internal gas to ignite a bight blue flame! Setting all ablaze that stand in their iconic beams wake... while the beam is powerful, it is costly to the kaiju's health, draining their energy if used for a prolonged amount of time.

Kaijus tend to be passive aggresive, and are very territorial. If provoked, these tanky beasts will not hesitate to lash out, but... if you keep your distance, they will leave you be... most of the time.

Crystal Chasm, also known as "Kaiju Cove", is their main territory. They are often found lurking about the Chasm. These crystals found within the cove are past kaijus.. fallen due to the sheer size of their crystals. They have continued to build and grow since. While the cave is lacking in resources.. we believe kaijus themselves are able to "grow" these crystals. This cove is known to have its own.. "smog".. it is highly dangerous, avoid at all costs. Even Gootrax species aren't immune to its potent radiation poisoning.

Pre-V3.2

A giant lizard-like creature that slowly has crystals growing outside of it's back. These crystals may vary in size and placement, but are mostly seen along the back of the creature.
Kaijus tend to be passive aggressive, and are very territorial. These tanky creatures tend to attack when provoked, but if you keep your distance, they will leave you be... most of the time.
The crystals in the main cave are actually shed scales that built up overtime. Touching any of those scales appear to be infectious, be careful of them.
Kaijus love spending time in the crystal caves or near water. While they do not swim often, they have shown to be very mobile in water and almost more aggressive.
Refrain from going near any of the large blue crystals inside the cave.
