Slime Pup

Template:Gootraxian Slime Pups are one of the main Gootraxians in Kaiju Paradise. They have the lowest HP (80 HP) out of all the other Gootraxians along with Dragon Pups in the game without a hat and with the exception of their Diamond and Golden variants.

They are small, quadruped, dog-like creatures made of a type of slime with a whitish facial mask. They can come in many colors, such as red, white, lime, and cyan.

Abilities

Slime Pups can wear certain objects lying around the map on their heads, such as buckets or yellow cones. This increases their max health by 15 HP.

Ghost Variants

Ghost Slime Pups are able to phase through players at any time and turn invisible for 5 seconds when hit, as well as having a unique levitating sleeping animation. The latter does not affect them in combat and is purely cosmetic.

Bite

Slime Pups can bite survivors (11 DMG) and Gootraxians (5.5 DMG)<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/510886407770734645/992694574231335022/unknown.png</ref> every 8 seconds. The human is shown the following dialogue upon being bitten:

Steal

They can use steal to take and hold various items from survivors such as bats, bottles, knives, and food. The ability can used every 15 seconds. However, stealing and holding an item comes with the cost of having their jump cooldown increased by 1.5 seconds. <ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/510886407770734645/992694727323422730/unknown.png</ref> They cannot steal items from survivors wearing hazmat suits, and these items may be dropped and reclaimed if the pup is hit while carrying an item. The human is shown the following dialogue upon losing an item to a pup:

Eat

They can also eat food to restore some of their HP, being able to do so every 10 seconds. The only exceptions to this are lemons which will instead damage them, shaken colas which will explode, ragdoll, and damage them if eaten, and Strange Crystals that, once eaten, will transform the Slime Pup into a Rainbow Slime Pup.

Ride

They can use ride to get on and off a player's back if the person stays still by unequipping the tool, respectively. It takes 5 seconds to get on someone's back, and they can be forced to get off by dealing any damage to them or by walking into the forcefield at spawn. Attempting to ride a Panther will get them slammed onto the ground and cause them to lose 45 HP. If slammed enough, they can be killed. The following messages will be shown upon a slime pup attempting to ride the player:

You felt something heavy climbing onto your back..
You suddenly felt something heavy on your back..

The Slime Pup will be shown the following messages if the player they try to ride on walks away or if the player is invulnerable:

You try to get onto [Player Name]'s back..
They walked away..
You can't ride on their back..

When a pup is riding a player's back, said player will receive a Passive Healing buff that scales over 20 seconds, which heals the player by an exponential amount every 0.75 seconds before capping out at 1 health per 0.75 seconds. Overall, this offers an 43% increase in passive healing overall, which can potentially shave off up to a minute of time spent healing if you were to regenerate from minimum health.

The equation used to determine how much healing received from the Passive Healing buff, is as follows:

Sleep

They can sleep, in which contrary to popular belief, does not increase regeneration. However, it does lower their hitbox making them much harder to hit

Golden Variants

Golden Slime Pups have 600 HP.<ref name=":0">update log HP https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/510886407770734645/992375542563225630/unknown.png</ref> Upon death, Golden Slime Pups will drop 2.5k <ref name=":1">update log credits, food heal, and scale system

If the player that killed the golden variant has done so for the first time, the player will recieve the Cruel Act badge. If the Golden leaves the game, a golden grave will spawn and function similar to them in order to get the rewards. Diamond Variants

Diamond Slime Pups have 900 HP.<ref name=":0" /> When hit, they drop credits that scale to the amount of damage dealt to them. They also drop 1,000 <ref>Update log of credit nerf https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/595547279965028355/1064357435415990363/IMG_8993.png </ref> to whoever landed the killing blow as and send out a flurry of more credits that other players can pick up, as well as a Diamond Crate. The amount of credits showered out scales to the amount of players in the server and each ticket worth 20 - 25 .<ref name=":1" /> Upon leaving, they will still drop a Diamond Crate along with the standard flurry of credits.

The Credit Scaling System is as follows:

instantly be 35, else it will be

These rare variants are unable to die by running into the forcefield in the spawn area, getting crushed by the gates or by resetting. They are unable to restore their HP entirely under normal circumstance such as eating food<ref name=":1" /> or by regenerating HP over time.<ref name=":0" /> They also cannot use the ride tool on any players.

Acquirement

There are 7 common Slime color variants and 3 rare variants.

In private servers, they can all be obtained by using the command :tf me Slimepup;color=[color]

Normal/Event

Normal Slime Pups are obtained by losing all of your HP to the blue puddles on the floor of the facility and in the cave. Doing this during a Power Outage will result in you turning into a Red Slime Pup, with glowing, red, crystal spines along its back. During Blackouts, you will instead turn into a white Slime Pup with a ghostly, white, translucent body and a wispy tail. Unlike the Ghost Slime Hound and Slime Dragon, Ghost Slime Pups can phase through gates and doors.

Golden and Diamond

Golden Slime Pups have a 1/250 (0.4%) chance of being your color. The chance is lower when there are below 15 players in a server, at 1/750 [0.13%]<ref name=":2">chance to obtain update log

Diamond Slime Pups have a 1/500 (0.2%) chance of being your color. The chance is lower when there are below 15 players in a server, at 1/1500 [0.07%]<ref name=":2" />. These variants are the rarest Gootraxians in the game.

Neither of these rare variants can be obtained during events.

Rainbow

You can become a Rainbow Slime Pup that shifts through multiple colors by eating a Strange Crystal from a survivor's hand. You can earn a "Perficiendus Perfectum" badge from this as well as the Rainbow Bat skin by feeding Slime Pups the Strange Crystal as a survivor.

Alternatively, they can be achieved in private servers by nicknaming yourself a certain name or by using the :rb, rb [player] command.

Trivia

It is the first Gootraxian in the game to have abilities that are not the standard attack and grab.
Any time a Slime Pup is hit, they make a squeaking noise.
Slime Pups are the only Gootraxians in the game to have the size value of 0.8 (Based off of the private server's size command).
- They are also one of three Gootraxians to have a different size value, the others being Slime Dragon Pup (being 0.882) and Kaiju (being 1.1).
Using the Pat emote on a Slime Pup will result in a special reactive animation with unique heart particle effects.
- This effect also occurs if the Slime Pup rides on a Slime Dragon or Hound that are of the same color.
Slime Pups stealing bats started as a mistake that hadn't been fixed. Now, it is an ability all Slime Pups are capable of using.
- There was also a bug where Pups were able to purchase bats from Abble's Shop. This was later fixed.

- There was another bug where, if multiple pups grabbed a bat at the same time, they would both grab it, causing a "fusion". It was possible for more than 2 of them to fuse together.
- If a Rainbow Pup steals a bat that uses particles or trails, such as Batsabers or Nebulas, the particles will change colors in sync with the rainbow.
Slime Pups used to be able to slide under the shelves easily due to their small size.
- You can no longer do this, as they added a barrier for them.<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/510886407770734645/992694574482989056/unknown.png</ref>
- However, there are some gaps that can still be slid under, such as the tables in the Main Hall.
There was a bug that sometimes caused a Slime Pups ability to ride players unusable.
During the Hallows Eve update, pups were unable to eat anything at all.
- There was also a bug that allowed slime pups to appear inside a player's chest by sleeping then riding a player.
The nickname method of making Rainbow Slime Pups references the infamous "jeb_" Rainbow sheep easter egg from Minecraft.
As confirmed by a developer, Slime Pups' face masks were based on apple cores, the eyes being seeds and the mask color being similar to the inside of an apple.
- Additionally, Slime Pups were inspired by their concept artist's late pet dog Moxie, who was a Miniature Pinscher<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/510886407770734645/992694574747238442/unknown.png</ref>.
According to their concept artist, they taste like fruit and the flavor depends on their color. Killing a Slime Pup by feeding it a Lemon Slice will play a fart sound effect with extra reverb as it dissolves into nothing.
Landing a final blow as a Golden Slime Pup using bite will turn the deceased player into gold, playing the money sound.
If the player constantly hovers on and off of Slime Pup's Bestiary icon, the icon will play a squeaking noise, like Slime Dragon and similar to Slime Hound.
