Melon Shork

"The shark reacted strangely to the watermelon you carried.."

Template:Gootraxian Melon Shorks (Watermelon Shork prior to V3.1R) are green shark Gootraxians with light-green skin with dark-green stripes along their arms, fins and legs, accompanied by two dark red horns. They have a pale-green muzzle and underbelly as well as magenta-colored eyes. Their horns produce a small pink flame that hovers above their heads.

Abilities

Increased Health (Passive)

Melon Shorks have slightly more Health than other Gootraxians, at 115 HP.

Acquirement

Players can obtain Melon Shork by colliding with a Pseudo Shork or Wisp mini shark during a Power Outage or Blackout respectively whilst holding a watermelon slice, or via infection by another Melon Shork Gootraxian.

After a player has walked into a mini-Shork and transformed with a watermelon slice, the Shork will become and remain green. Anyone else who walks into it will become a Melon Shork, regardless of if they have a watermelon slice.

After 30 seconds, if no player has touched the green Shork, it will revert back to a regular gray Shork.

Bestiary Entry

This mutation of the Shorks occurred from an odd reaction to the rind and interior of a watermelon, fully developing properly only in dimly lit areas. These gootrax have evolved their own light source, having an odd flame between their horns to see better in the dark. This flame does not hurt when touched, and gives off a sweet melon like smell.

Trivia

• Upon transformation, there was a 1/10 (10%) chance of having a yellow sticky note appear taped to your forehead that reads "rad".
  • The note originally read "not a furry", which was changed due to the original message getting moderated by Roblox.
    • The text used to be glitched, appearing inside of the sticky note instead of on it.
  • The command that forced this variant is :tf me Blaxor;VIP=true in private servers.
• The Melon Shork's design is based on the Head Developer, BlaxorReborn's avatar. Despite this, he claims it is not his fursona.
• There is an unused, alternative variant of it that uses different faces and clothes.
  • It was confirmed to be the TFE Version of the Melon Shork, and was not intended to be in KP's code.
• Before the removal of the ??? Badge, killing a Melon Shork had a 1/12 (8.34%) chance to drop a whole watermelon. Upon picking up the whole watermelon, the player is granted the ??? Badge.
• Before V3.1R, when clicking on Melon Shork's bestiary page, its name briefly appeared as 'Blaxor' before the text is quickly erased and replaced with its normal name.
• Due to its in-game code name, in VIP servers, using the command :tf [player name] blaxor would have turned the player into a Melon Shork.
  • Because of this, using :tf [player name] watermelonshork will NOT work.
    • As of V3.1R, it's in-game name has been changed to melonshork, meaning the command now only works with the aforementioned name.
• Melon Shork and Dagoda are currently the only Event-exclusive Gootraxians able to be obtained in both Power Outage and Blackout.
• There used to be a Rage Bar mechanic that was activated if another player eats a watermelon slice in the direct vicinity of a Melon Shork, a red bar (known as the "rage bar") would fill in short increments each time a watermelon is eaten until it is completely full. However, this bar has never provided any additional effect when this happens.
