The Panther is another community Gootraxian in Kaiju Paradise, designed by Mysticalesta, who also made Carneline.

Panthers appear to be a feline with black fur and a slightly lighter marking on their torso that resembles a four-point ninja star. Their eyes glow during blackouts and emit a yellow and glowing trail while walking, unless they are at low HP, in which case their eyes will turn red and emit a glowing trail of that color instead.

Abilities

The Panther is currently the only known Gootraxian able to actually kill Humans, to do this they must use the "Claw" tool. At low HP, the "Claw" tool damage and cooldown will be reduced.

Panthers also have a "Prepare" tool which can only be used on specific events (power outage or blackout). All humans are highlighted with a yellow, slightly transparent layer that will slowly begin to fade away after some time. They are also the only Gootraxian with a unique grab animation, which is choking the player.

They also able to block scythe attacks which the chance are varies on the event (50% when there's no event, 70% on Power Outages, 85% on Blackouts). <ref>https://discord.com/channels/786788486887768135/821381992779218955/922713914951757856</ref>

Upon blocking, they will take only 1/2.5 of the original scythe damage and will be slowed down temporarily instead of ragdolled.

They can also drop rare items like Kaijus, but instead of Kaiju Basher, Panther will drop a Panther Bombarder. They have a chance to also drop Strange Crystals, which varies depending on how much of an infect streak the Panther has when killed, it won't drop if the Panther didn't infect anyone.

Obtainability

You can become one by either touching a Kaiju Crystal during a Blackout or getting infected by another Panther.

New Description

Dubbed the balance-keeperss of the cave, Panthers are wild, feral Gootraxians that prowl the facility during Blackouts, using their long, hooked claws and keen senses to stalk the caves they dwell in and seize any unfortunate prey they may find.

These Gootraxians are extremely agile, having developed uniquely long limbs to move unhindered quadrupedally and bipedally. When enraged, specialized circulatory vessels around their eyes fill with blood, causing them to glow red, and the fur on their tails puffs out and becomes sharp and quill-like. While quite rare to see in person, Panthers may sometimes hunt Slime Pups for sustenance.

Keep an eye on the crystals in the cave when blackouts occur.

Old Description (Bestiary debut)

Panthers are sleek, black-furred, feline Gootraxians that are vicious and feral in nature. They have long, hooked claws adept at scaling the uneven cave environment they dwell in and seizing prey.

Panthers are incredibly light-footed and agile, and are sometimes capable of fast quadrupedal (four-legged) movement. When enraged or under intense stress, specialized vessels around their eyes fill with blood which causes them to glow a vivid red instead of yellow. During this state, their fur will stand on end, especially along their tails, and become stiff and quill-like. They are especially active under low light and are capable of detecting and tracking down other presences to hunt. However their ability to do so under bright light is hindered.

The facility may sometimes experience severe fluctuations in electrical power and this might result in blackouts. The cave's crystals will turn a bright white during this time, when Panthers frequent most and are most aggressive.

Trivia

• Other than Slime Pups, they are the only full-body Gootraxian who can actually kill people instead of getting transfurred, using the Claws ability.
• Panther's design was inspired by the Nargacuga from Monster Hunter according to the creator.
